Dirty tub and dirty floors.
- SheriAug 31, 2021Economy pet friendly motel in Gatlinburg
We have stayed at this motel 2 times for 2 nights in December. The location is great. Close to the drive into the park and good restaurants. The rooms are a little tired, but ours was clean. Not much pet relief area. Just a short walk off of the main strip. Good value for a pet friendly place to stay in Gatlinburg.
- DanielJul 10, 2021Would not stay there again
So-called pet park was only partially grass. No doggie bags and place full of dog poop. One morning a bear was in large public trash receptacle left open. We ran back in and had to drive to other poop site for dogs. Recommend meeting with owner to improve conditions.
- DevinAug 5, 2020Tiny grass area for dogs/BEAR
There was only a tiny are for dogs to use the restroom, and it seemed like half the hotel brought their dogs. Therefore there were always other people with dogs. People didn’t always pick up after their dogs. Only half of it was actually grass, the rest was dirt and rock where they haven’t kept up with it. Also, we ran into a black bear on the property twice (2 TIMES) while staying one night. The guy on duty said it’s normal since the hotel backs up to forrest and all we can do is stay away from them. He didn’t do anything. There was also a large, OPEN trash can on the top floor near our room so that was the bears target the first time. Needless to say, we were scared for our lives the first time! We definitely will never go back there, but the room was decent for the price and the jacuzzi was a cool addition. For sure nothing too nice though.

Roaches. Floors are extremely dirty. Carpets not vacuumed.
- JonOct 21, 2019Lacking in up keep of property.
Needs a serious cleaning effort to be done on at least our room. First of all the window was so dirty you could write your name on the glass with no problem. Second, granite back splash looked like something had been thrown on it, must have been a good party. Thirdly, hot tub faucet loose and dripping water all night, and drain was rusted. Fourth, chair by the bed had the back left leg broke off. Fifth, cig burns on the tub in the bathroom. Sixth, there was a small grade school toilet in the bathroom, which is hard for a disabled person to use! Seventh, the ice machine outside was dirty, the room was on backside of the hotel, out of sight out of mind. Parking was EXTREMELY difficult, had to back out of the lot. The ceiling had been repaired due to a water leak. The plaster tape had gotten wet again and had pulled away hanging over the bed. Freezer in frig could not be used because it was full of frost, not opening, frosted shut. All of this for $219.00 a night, and there were no other rooms available, the clerk told the lady in front of me while I was checking in. BringFido has been very helpful in this matter, it is ashamed that they were put in this position, our family will use this service again without a doubt with BringFido, our puppy says yes with his tail wagging!
- TheresaSep 8, 2019Do Not Stay Here
We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 4. When we got there we were given a king suite with a red jacuzzi hot tub. The front desk told me that was all they had. After letting him know it would be quite difficult to fit 2 adults and 2 teenage boys in a king bed, he offered us another king room at no charge. Both rooms were disgustingly dirty. There were stains on the carpets and walls, dead bugs on the floor, dust everywhere, rips in the sheets. There was nowhere to walk dogs, just a small area by the dumpster with no grass. They don’t have bear bins for trash so when we woke up, there was trash everywhere. The area was very shady. It’s off the main strip located next to 2 out of service hotels that now seem to be apartments.
- MarcySep 7, 2019You have to be in the room at all times
We were evacuated from Charleston SC due to Hurricane Dorian. We had a last minute reservation for the motel 6 in the Smokey mountains since we had our two dogs with us. When we arrived we were informed they only take 1 animal per room and we must be in the hotel at all times. We called BringFido and let them know we will be leaving in the morning (luckily I found a cabin that takes pets) and informed them of the situation. The hotel was not pet friendly like it says on their sites. Would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay if you have pets and plan to see Gatlinburg
- SandeMore than a year agoDon’t Stay Here!
As I was putting our cold items into the fridge water from an ice bag dripped on the floor. I got a hand towel to dry up the water. In just two swipes the towel was black with dirt. After this I immediately began to foot mop using the towel the areas I would be walking in the room. I wish I could upload the picture so that you could see just how disgusting the floor was. Believe me, if we hadn’t been so tired and hungry I would have left! Later that night I was standing in front of the tv and as I took a step back, my flip flop stayed on he floor (stuck). The bathroom door wouldn’t close and the white tile was black around all the edges. Spend the extra $25. Stay somewhere else I reported dirty floor to manager and gave him the dirty towel. He gave the excuse that the floors were mopped but they were dust magnets every time the door opened. Really?
- PaddieJun 29, 2018It's dog friendly
I had reservations at a really nice well known local place but at the last minute had to bring my dog so I picked this place because it was dog friendly and didn't have an outrageous dog fee.
Pros: dog friendly, price, no carpets, okay room
(I met a women in the office who was trying to get her reservation refunded because her room was filthy, I saw pictures and it was)
Cons: The neighborhood is sketchy (I've lived my entire life in the NYC metro area and have always worked in inner cities, so I know sketchy) the hotel is up a hill @ traffic light 10. When you turn on to the street there is a Cici and a little further down a few nice larger hotels and then you cross a bridge... There is on the right a motel that looks semi abandoned and then a large abandoned motel behind it. On the left there appears to be a nameless motel that is used as an SRO now, and some rundown apartments in the middle and across from the motel 6. I was not afraid of getting shot by a random bullet (more like the show Criminal Minds, maybe getting kidnapped or mugged) I see a lot of teens walking around Gatlinburg and while I would probably let mine walk around in a group, I would never let them out of my sight around the motel.
The room smelled like the disinfect they use at the vet's office. We stayed at another dog friendly motel 6 in North Carolina (it was a palace) with carpet and it didn't smell like this.
The "balcony" in the back facing the river. The balcony is a rickety wooden deck. It stinks of cigarettes. You can't see water, only debris tossed all over the place (not garbage).
Second floor room, there were vacant first floor rooms, why give me a second floor?
The WiFi is in and out but this is all over the area.
The toilet didn't always work.
All in all I would probably not stay there again. This is a shame because we stayed at a motel 6 in Galax NC and that is what a $60 a night dog friendly motel should be. I think in a few years this area will be rebuilt and I may try it again. - StaceyMore than a year agoFriendly place- look out for bears!
Decent place- we had a couple small issues, but the wonderful, friendly front desk staff resolved them quickly. We did see a bear in the parking lot one morning, but that's Gatlinburg..keep your eyes open!
