Reviews
Visitors generally found the Millennium Maxwell House Nashville to be an older, somewhat run-down hotel with mixed opinions on cleanliness and amenities. Some travelers were disappointed by issues like malfunctioning appliances, worn-out carpets, and unhelpful staff, while others appreciated the pet-friendly policies, convenient location, and friendly service.

- LoriMar 23, 2024The place is a dump
The check-in staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The carpeting was worn out, dirty in the lobby, hallway and room, and was at least 30 years old. The bathroom tile grout had mold, I am not sure the tub could ever be cleaned again. My husband was in ankle deep water by the end of his shower. The wallpaper was peeling off in there too. The breakfast had only a few items and no fruit and cost $10, not complimentary. Plus they charge a resort fee and other fees that total more than $45. It is NOT a resort. It's a dump and there are plenty of other places less expensive to stay nearby that are much nicer!
- SandiJan 14, 2024Update needed
This place would be nice if given an update.
- CynthiaAug 19, 2023Don’t stay here
The hotel itself is decent, if you don’t mind drug addicts as neighbors; they stumble down the hallways like a pinball in a pinball machine. The staff was useless - wouldn’t put out more cups for coffee, didn’t want to bring me a refrigerator (I eventually got one but it was a fight). If you don’t have dogs and are staying on the 8th or 9th floor, you already have one in your room, no extra charge, but for everyone else, it is $10 per day.
At check-in, they took my card for incidentals on a prepaid room. They immediately charged $436 to my card. Upon checkout, they charged another $225. So while I should have been charged $120 for pet fee, refrigerator, and the fee of $44 that they say is for cleaning and use of the pool, I was charged $661 AND the $120. Two days after I got home I was refunded the $661. I would give it zero bones but that’s not an option.
- GabbyJul 1, 2023Mediocre
Floors were disgusting, shower didn’t drain, holes in towels. Overall, mediocre place.
- KasyeJun 18, 2023Better than Downtown
Rooms are old and need updates (a/c malfunctioned and there was a plastic bag over smoke detector).
There was plenty of green space for dog. Neighborhood near hotel ok for walking but not well lit. - MariyaMay 18, 2023Needs better maintenance
The hotel is old and it seems everything is falling apart. The remote in the room wasn’t working, so no TV. The tab didn’t drain properly. The toilet was leaking. However, the pups were fine with everything and got a good night rest to continue the trip. There was plenty of grass to walk. Not sure I’d stay in this hotel again. Three bones at best.
- SusanApr 21, 2023Affordable and nice
Although I did not have my dog this stay it’s a decent, clean hotel just outside of downtown Nashville. They offer a shuttle service to downtown every half hour for tips only which worked out great. Room was clean. Hotel a little “beat up.” The $15 hotel buffet breakfast was worse than the free breakfasts that you get at other travel hotels. Save your money and grab the shuttle to town.
- SueApr 19, 2023Good location
Our key card wouldn’t work; went to front desk three times, on the third time we were given a different room on a different floor. Inconvenient when you have a dog and a cart full of luggage. Tub was slow to drain. Hotel undergoing renovations.
- DavidMar 29, 2023Big hotel but dog friendly
Easy in and out. A number of dog owners. Decent room.
- RyanJan 26, 2023Friendly and Convenient
Hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming to my pet. After 12 hours of driving, I really appreciated the ease of check-in done by text and digital signatures. I was able to walk in with my pet, provided an I.D. and was handed room keys…all within 60 seconds. The room was clean and plenty of amenities within the hotel itself (dining, fitness) along with adjacent neighborhoods for a normal dog walk. If you get in late, there’s plenty of options for late night Doordash.
- DestinyJan 7, 2023Great location!
Honestly we had a great experience here. One of our biggest concerns on our cross country trips was security because we are hauling my vehicle on a trailer and have so much with us. The parking lot was huge with plenty of space for a trailer, and they had security in a well lit area. The front staff were very nice and showed us pics of their dogs so they were really welcoming. We didn’t ask for any other accommodations so not sure if those are available. There was lots of grass space for the dogs to use as well. We were happy!
- NicholasDec 12, 2022Great location and very nice staff
Not really a designated dog park area, no amenities for the dogs, no dog wash station nor waste cleanup supplies for accidents inside hotel or hotel room. This hotel has potential to be amazing, maybe it will in the remodel coming soon! Overall this hotel is amazing and they were very nice to me and my pups! Thank you guys for everything!
- ChanningDec 1, 2022Great staff, safe location
This is my second time staying here. The staff is amazing and always very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little run down. You can tell it's older but it's clean and in a safe neighborhood. Good deal overall for anyone with pets.
- BradleyJul 1, 2022Pretty clean
Better than Motel 6.
- JamesJun 18, 2022Very dog friendly
Great rooms. Dogs not welcome in fenced pool area but plenty of chairs and tables shaded outside of pool area with a side window for Maxwell's bar to order drinks and food. Breakfast is expensive but DD and McDonald's are a 1/4 mile walk. Great service.
- CindyMay 17, 2021Won't stay again
Did not have a very pleasant experience at this hotel when we traveled all day and "Due to Covid "the restaurant the bar wasn't open so we weren't able to eat on site. They had a free shuttle was not running, so we took an Uber into Nashville to avoid driving in traffic and parking to get something to eat. When we walked barefoot in room we were stepping on things (food, dirt) I couldn't tell you. It was late, we pulled down one of the full-size beds and it had a large yellow stain in the middle of the sheets along with other stains. It was disgusting and I was Dumbfounded on how they even had the sheets on bed. I'm assuming this room might not have been cleaned. They offered to move us to the eighth floor at 11:30 pm but with two dogs being on the 8th floor was not convenient. We were on the third floor and that was far enough to the outside. I told them just to come up in the morning to clean my room and change the linens. So my husband and I crammed in a full size with my 1 dog so we didn't get much sleep, thinking these sheets weren't even clean and no room to move.
In the morning I took a shower to find that I was ankle deep in water with a clogged drain. That's when we decided to leave a day early. I got a great discount price through Fido at $111.00 A night and when I checked out they charge me over $135 a night plus a pet fee!! My dogs were cleaner than that room. My fault, I did not look at my bill until after her we were back on the road. Never thought or had a place charge me a higher price. Very disappointed that the hotel still hasn't got back to me on my email I sent. One thing I hate to do is complain but this was one of the worst experiences and to charge me just under $200 for the Filthy room and "Covid". They advertise being clean. Unacceptable in my book. - HeatherFeb 28, 2020Nice hotel, accommodating
I travel with a medium sized dog and three cats. They let them stay unkenneled for $25 a piece which is pricey but no one bothered us. The rooms are outdated but the grounds and room were mostly clean. The dog walking area had dog poop everywhere so we chose to walk the front of the grounds instead. There’s a free shuttle to downtown if you don’t mind waiting but Uber is much faster and downtown is close by. The rooms were pretty quiet considering a lot of people. I would stay again.
