  Good choice

  Nice clean room. We asked for 1st floor but the hotel is doing reno in the whole building so no 1st floor rooms. But it was quiet and had a very nice dog walk area. Very quiet off the highway. Would stay again.

  Nice short stay

  I stayed here two nights. The room was fine and staff were very friendly. They also put us on the ground floor, by the door so it was easy for me to take my dog in and out. They have a nice grass area at the back of the hotel which is a good relief area with poop bags provided. Also close to lots of takeout places as you can’t leave the dog in the room, these may be convenient. I brought food with me and use the fridge and microwave in the room. Overall, no negatives!

  Fantastic location and hotel

  Perfect location for easy on/off freeway. The front desk at check-in was easy and the clerk was kind and helpful. Nice and clean dog area. Very comfortable beds. No issues at all and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

  The hotel was reasonably priced and clean. Nothing special, but it's good for an overnight stay while you're on the road. Hotel provided a dog bone and toy at registration. There is a requirement to sign an agreement to pay $150 if your dog is loud and disturbs other guests. Not an issue for my dog, but could be if you have a yappy pup.

  The room was nice and clean and the beds and bedding were so fluffy lovely to sleep on. The staff were very nice too. Will definitely stay again when driving through.

  Worst experience ever!

  Our experience was most stressful and felt unwelcome. Upon checking in we were greeted by two women who never smiled and when they learned we had dogs they shoved a paper in my face to sign that if any guests complained about our dogs we would be charged an additional $150. That was never explained to us beforehand and made our stay stressful and unpleasant. They could easily just make up a complaint. The place was outdated, public carpets and furniture were threadbare. Outdoor pet space was the only thing going for this place. Most unfortunate.

  Great stay!

  We stopped here 1 night with our dog on our way home from a trip. The hotel was in a great location off the highway, clean, and included a good breakfast. They even gave our dog a goody bag. Would definitely stay here again.

  Staff are very friendly. The room was very nice and included everything you could need for a long or short stay. Where to begin about the beds! Super comfortable and cozy! We stayed one night with our dog after a long drive from Florida and had a great night of sleep before finishing our trip home to NY. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel and would definitely stay again. Price was great too.

  Easy spot to stop off I-81

  Traveling with two dogs, I asked for and got a first floor room which made walking them out back easy. Dog walking area was picked up. Room was generously sized and clean. Check-in was easy.

  Very clean, easy off Interstate 81. A negative your dog can not be left in the room alone, also if anyone complains about your dog barking there is a $150 charge. If not for this I would have given them 5 bones .

  Our stay was al last minute decision. We were happy that they took big dogs. Our German Shepherd loves to travel and enjoyed her stay as well as us. I would stay again!

  Comfortable Room and Place

  The hotel is nicely furnished, clean, and welcoming at a reasonable rate for just “me and my dog 💙🐾.” We stayed one night passing through, requested a first floor room, and got one. Our room was easily accessible from inside and out. The grounds are well-kept and my dog was good with his bathroom options. (A few places we’ve been to, he won’t go, if you know what I mean). My dog liked it here, so we’d book a stay here again. Thank you, Sleep Inn and BringFido!

  Better than average for this sort of joint. Kind of out in the middle of nowhere but clean and newish, with a pretty large grassy area for dogs. Bonus: guests seem to pick up poop because it was not a minefield.

  Fine for dogs

  They were very nice at check-in and we were given a first floor room which is always great for taking dogs out. It is not so great a place that they should charge extra for dogs. The people accommodations were okay but no tub and bathroom door would not close, which is awkward when you are traveling with non- family.

  Room was nice & was good for a night stay! Would have been nice to have a fenced in dog area and a $150 fee if someone complains about your dog barking in a pet friendly hotel is a bit steep. Good assortment of breakfast foods provided in the morning too! Overall nice place.

  Only fly in the ointment was a slight smell of Febreze or some other obnoxious chemical intended to cover up smells that, as far as I could tell, were non-existent. Maybe they just spray the dog rooms that way. Please don't! Breakfast was on the light side--but that part of the world has plenty of Hardee's (best sausage biscuits going).

  Uncomfortable bed, unfriendly staff

  The bed I got was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. When I got there it was storming and it was made implicitly clear that my dog was not to be left in the room at all. I asked about the breakfast area (even the most friendly of dog hotels usually ask you to steer your pup clear of the breakfast area) and I was met with such snark about maybe they would allow her to be in her room alone for 10 minutes or so.

  Clean but…

  We found this hotel to be clean and odor free which is a big deal for a pet-friendly hotel. A small warning: small bathroom! The sink is basically in your room, the toilet & shower were separate.

  I love staying at the Sleep Inn in Staunton VA when I drive between SW Florida and upstate NY. It’s clean, comfortable, right off the highway, and the folks who work there are the friendliest in the business. I only wish I could find another hotel this wonderful for the other leg of my fairly frequent 3-day journey.

  the Inn is 100% dog friendly. we were welcomed with a kind and friendly smile, a delicious treat for our fur baby and greeted by several fur visitors. the room had coffee, fridge, microwave, large closet, and shower. Room was cool and quiet. toiletries were soap and shampoo only, but that was not an issue. great place and highly recommend!!!!

  First, it’s not even close to where Fido map shows it, it’s outside of Staunton.

  Hotel was very nice, clean, and extremely pet friendly. Our big fluff had plenty of space to play ball and they even provided dog bags. Rooms were clean and comfortable. For the price and no pet fee, I would absolutely stay here again if in the area without question.

  Definitely dog-friendly

  We stayed overnight at the Sleep Inn in Staunton, VA on our way back home. Lobby was clean and check-in was quick. They have plenty of grassy areas for your pup to take care of business and they definitely keep this area clean (no “land mines” to avoid while walking your dog). The room was comfortable although the bathroom area felt a bit small. Towels were provided in a sealed bag and the rooms were quiet, didn’t hear any noise from four or two legged mammals when the door was closed.
  The only reason I gave 4 bones instead of 5 was I requested a room near an outdoor entrance so I could take my dog out without bumping into other guests or staff as he can be skittish with strangers especially after a long car ride. While we were put near an outside entrance, it was right by the front lobby and (as I noticed the next morning) directly across from the staff laundry room. Thankfully we had no issues but I later found another outside entrance at the far end of the same wing in the stairwell that would have been a better location. We left before the breakfast room opened but they have a 24 hour coffee/tea station in the front lobby. There’s also a number of restaurants/fast food places nearby that you can go to or use a food delivery service. This place was great for our needs and would certainly book again.

  Just an Overnight

  We decided at the last minute to stay here. I booked through Bringfido and arrived about an hour later. Everything was set up and ready to go. Its not a fancy hotel but it was good for the night with an 90lb German Shepherd. This was his first night in a hotel period. He was little on edge and every car that pulled up he wanted to bark. It would have been better for us to have been put on the back side of the hotel. There was plenty of grassy areas for him to go potty. Onour way out they gave him a bone and a poop bag(we were supposed to get it at check in but the lady was very busy so I can see how she may have forgotten). They did put us on a 1st floor near a side exit(this was great for bathroom time not to have to take him through the lobby). Overall it was good for our fur baby. We do usually stay in a little bit more upscale hotel when just staying overnight but being that they were very accepting of our large breed dog we will be staying here again soon when we are in the area.

  We stayed here mostly because of all the great reviews. The staff was fantastic, but the room was average at best. The bathroom wasn’t super clean, nor was the carpet. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, but it was fine for one night. Probably wouldn’t stay here again unless they did a big refresh of the property.

  Great stay!

  We were offered an early check-in which we gratefully accepted. Our pups were provided with a nice treat upon arrival. Plenty of space to walk the dogs with baggies and disposal receptacle provided. The room was small but more than adequate with a small refrigerator and a microwave. Breakfast was ample. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to the breakfast room attendant; she was a jewel. Will stay here again and will recommend to others.

  Sleep Inn Staunton was a winner!

  I was feeling drowsy at the wheel on I-81, so I got on BringFido and searched for a dog-friendly hotel in Staunton or Harrisonburg, VA. Sleep Inn was highly rated by many users, and it was good value, so I booked a room. The staff were courteous and friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep rather than dodging semi-trucks in the rain and sleet on I-81.

  Excellent (pet friendly) hotel

  We’ve only recently been travelling with our small dog and sometimes finding accommodations has been a challenge.
  We booked the Sleep Inn in Staunton and were beyond pleasantly surprised. It was conveniently located close to the interstate and yet near amenities. The room and hotel were above our expectations. Room was great - clean and updated, Included breakfast buffet selections were good and staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and would check out other Sleep Inn locations based on our experience here.

  Great for dogs and people!

  We would stay at the Sleep Inn in Staunton again. The staff was great, the room was very nice, and there was a self-serve breakfast. The only negative was the coffee in the lobby, but the coffee in the room was OK. Our puppy was very naughty, so we had to clean up a lot, but there was no pet fee. And the rate was great too. I don't know how they do it, as other places were more expensive and not as nice.

  Best Stay so Far

  This has been one of the best stays off of BringFido so far. The receptionist was very friendly, the room was perfect with no extra pet fee and they had a pet relief area. The beds were also super comfy. The only thing that wasn't the best, was the room was on the smaller side so there wasn't many options to put the crate. But other than that, it was really awesome and conveniently located next to I-81.

  They have a nice area to walk your dog, with poop bags! And they have a treat for your pup when you check in. Right off the highway with lots of eating options, grocery and Walmart close by. Will definitely stay again.

  We've stayed at this location with our pittie several times. They welcome dogs and provide a great area for walking and relieving, which is well kept and surprisingly clean. They have rooms set aside just for people with dogs, and we have never had a problem with cleanliness or smells or any evidence that dogs had stayed there. This is a go-to spot for us when traveling.

  We stayed overnight with our pup and 2 kids. We found the room to be spic and span. They even included a rubber ducky for the kids! There is NO PET FEE (!!) and you'll finding a grassy pet area for the dogs right outside the door. Breakfast is included and what a wonderful spread they offer! The hostess wakes at 3 am to serve it and she is such a pleasant face, greeting us and assisting us with our food. She said she’s been here for 19 years! Good service is hard to come by, but she exceeds “good”. Thanks for hosting us for the night, Sleep Inn!

  Nice stay

  We stayed with our small dog for one night. It was our first time using the Bring Fidoapp. We felt very welcome with our pet. It’s wonderful that they don’t charge for the pet! Some hotels really charge outrageous fees. We’ve seen up to $50, which tells me they are discouraging your business.
  There is a rule that you can’t leave your dog in the room alone which inhibits things you can do in town so we ended up getting take out fast food.
  I think if a dog is super well-behaved and stays in a crate that it should be permitted for a few hours. Especially day hours in case they might whine. In our case she doesn’t bark. All in all a great one night stop on I-81 for an excellent priced, clean and friendly hotel!
