  Stopped by on our way to Raleigh for Easter. Very nice hotel. All the staff was very friendly. You can eat and drink with your dog right outside the bar. Several dog friendly restaurants nearby. We would go back.

  Easy overnight stay

  Welcome doggie treats, free easy garage parking for an SUV with Thule box on top. Comfy bed and clean. Very basic amenities. Only downside was hard to find a grassy area but super cute town to walk around and plenty of restaurants to take out - we ate in the lobby restaurant (only open Friday and Sat).

  Highly recommend!! The staff is very friendly with dog treats awaiting us at check-in. Rooms are excellent. Parking garage is okay for car top carriers. A very pleasant place to stay!!

  Super dog friendly

  We had a fantastic stay at Hotel 24 South. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and welcoming to us and our dog, and it felt like they really meant it. Our room was well presented, and comfortable. The hotel is in a perfect location for walking to the downtown shops and restaurants and is right next door to Blackfriar’s Theater. Food at Hotel 24 South from the buffet breakfast to casual evening meals in the bar was great also.

  Nice hotel

  This is a nice hotel right in the cute town of Staunton. There are many restaurants and shops within a short walking distance of the hotel. In the summer they close down the Main Street to cars and set up outside seating for many of the restaurants so you can easily find a restaurant that allows you to bring your dog. The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming to us and our 2 labs. Although this is a very dog friendly town, we had a hard time finding a grassy area for our pups to relive themselves.

  There is a very small dog area across the street from the hotel which would probably be fine for small dogs, but we had to walk up and down (big hills) to try to find grassy areas for our dogs and it is possible the few we found were really private property. Other than the lack of grass (which isn’t the fault of the hotel) the hotel was nice. They have garage parking which can be accessed from the hotel via an elevator in the lobby (separate from the elevators to the rooms), but it is $50/night to park.

  Super pet hotel!

  Loved this place. Great staff, great hotel. Very pet friendly and clean. Would be returning here any time I am in the area.

  A new lodging facility for us

  The Hotel 24 South is a lovely old facility with delightful service. Our room however, did not have a refrigerator or microwave. Staunton is beautiful.

  You have a home in Staunton

  Ideally located in town within walking distance to everything. Garage parking (free), indoor pool, small fitness center. Our room was so clean I felt as if we were the first guests! Comfy bed. Only slight negative is there's no mini-fridge or microwave. But with so many restaurants close by plus a breakfast buffet in dining hall ($15), we weren’t disappointed. Friendly engaging staff. Comfortable bed and very quiet. We loved Gloria's restaurant (Pupusas/Salvadoran) and Redbeard Brewery. Will absolutely stay at Hotel 24 South again to explore more of this charming town. Easy 30-minute drive to Harrisonburg where we had a delightful dinner at Rocktown (reservations a must). Thanks Hotel 24 South!

  Fine stay

  Only issue we encountered was parking, as we are towing a cargo trailer. The hotel parking garage does not allow trailers. The nearby community lot was full because of a play. But we were able to find handy on-street parking and be out by 8 AM, which is the ordinance. Otherwise the hotel was fine!

  Great fall destination

  The staff at Hotel 24 South was first class. They treated my Weimaraner (and my wife and me) very graciously. A small bag of treats for Gunner upon arrival and great interest in him as a canine. The hotel has great lodging and Staunton is a beautiful town to explore.

  Clean and convenient

  4th floor was super quiet. Room was not carpeted which was fine for us. Room did have an odor, but the room was very clean. We did leave early and the front desk staff was kind enough to grant access to the parking garage elevator. We also enjoy the easy and safe walking to downtown and our favorite restaurant.

  What a gem

  My room in the newer addition was beautiful and still classic. Gorgeous lobby and common areas. Great downtown location. Super friendly staff and so welcoming of my dogs. An all around fantastic stay. I’m definitely coming back.

  Very nice but

  The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly. I can't give it 5 bones because of a few things. First, we brought our dog and there was a horrid smell on the 4th floor (which is where they put people who bring pets). I think they were trying to get rid of it while we were there. The rooms are quite banged up/show signs of wear and tear. They are also quite stark....not much on the walls. There is no refrigerator in the rooms. Seeing as how the restaurant and bar were closed while we were there you would think this could be something they would provide.

  Without COVID I think the stay would have been better, minus the worn look to the place and the smell. The location is definitely the highlight of this place!
