We appreciated the spaciousness of the room & the comfortable bed, but our praise ends there. The WiFi didn’t work on our laptops, & their response was to have us call someone for help. We got no response, & we shouldn’t have had to call anyone! The microwave didn’t work, there was no remote initially for the tv, & the lights blinked off & on in the bathroom because they were burning out. Not enough trash cans, either.

This used to be a nice hotel as we have stayed several times. The carpets in pet friendly rooms needs replacing with other materials like tiles or waterproof laminate. No free breakfast, it was a pay coffee shop that did not open on time at 7 am so we left for our drive home around 7:30. When I made the reservation I asked for adjoining rooms, came in an hour early and they didn't allow early check-ins so I reiterated at that time since I was told the rooms had not yet been assigned that I wanted connecting rooms that had been stated in the reservation 2 weeks prior. We did not get connecting rooms! Also I was asked 2 times if I needed handicapped accessible rooms and I said No! They gave those to me anyways. The dog friendly part to take your pets out to was 1 patch of grass about 10x10 ft. Square...not enough. Your Pet fee is not $25. Per night it is $25. Per pet, per night! I had prepaid my rooms but they charged me $93. for my pets and was never told the cost at checkout. I guess all the extra was for taxes as my calculations say $25.x3=$75. We will no recommend this place any longer.

We had a first floor room with a sliding door to a patio. It was very convenient to take our doggo out to do her business. The room was very clean. The hotel itself was a little dated, but it had everything we needed.

Super clean. We arrived late on Xmas Eve, last minute too, and they could not have been more accommodating. My go-to stay in Williamsburg for now on!

This place is a hidden gem. They accommodated us with our three dachshunds!! Our room was on the first floor and had a patio that opened onto a large grassy area that was great for walking the dogs. Be sure to ask for one of these rooms. They provide door hangers so as not to disturb your dog when you're out of the room and will deliver extra towels, pillows, etc... as needed. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. It is also very close to Busch Gardens, Water Country, restaurants, and Great Wolf Lodge. The facility and grounds are very large and you won't feel like your right on top of other people. All of the people with dogs are on the same hall/floor so there are no issues with disturbing other guests who are here without pets. They also have an indoor and outdoor pool.

We recently stayed at Fort Magruder and were very dissapointed. The grounds and hotel itself were okay - which is the defining characteristic of what could have been an amazing stay - there was zero effort to go beyond subpar to mediocre at best. The staff were polite but made no effort to go out of their way to be helpful. The room was dingy and the beds, to our shock, had no fitted sheets, only a mattress protector with a sheet draped over it. Move at all during the night and the entire thing is off and you're on the mattress. A mattress by the way that was about as comfortable as sleeping on some wire coat hangers. We asked for some extra pillows and were told "no sorry, must be because we are so booked". No complimentary breakfast, no coffee, no amenities whatsoever (except for the pool.) For a short weekend stay, a cost of 500.00 would have been a 4 star or above stay at some pretty lofty places. We will not be returning and will not be recommending it to others.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby I felt like my dog was treated as royalty! Room was large and spacious for our little girl, a 10 lb. yorkie! Definitely would stay here again!

Accommodating for our dog, decent level of cleanliness (no dog smell in room). Frig & coffee maker, no microwave. Would stay again just because pets are allowed at an acceptable charge, $25/night.

We had a very restful one night stay. Our room was clean and on the first floor with access to a little patio. Gal at the desk was so friendly and nice- they even gave our pup a goodie bag with treats.
They seemed very pet friendly. When Covid isn’t a thing it looked like there was a courtyard to sit and spend time in. - JenniferDec 28, 2019Dog and Kids
This was our first time staying in a hotel with our lab puppy. We also have 3 kids (ages 15, 13, and 10). We got two rooms and after calling ahead the staff was so nice to allow an early check-in for the dog so we could go to Busch Gardens when it opened at 2. They also made sure the rooms were adjoining. They were first floor with sliding doors and directly across from the dog grassy area. It’s a slightly older hotel but kept up well with clear recent remodeling of the common areas. Couldn’t have been a more perfect set up for a family traveling with kids and a dog. Definitely recommend.
