I witnessed a training session with AlphA & Omega Dog Training, LLC in the park across the street from my house last night. I heard a dog screaming all the way across the street from inside my house. I went into my front yard to observe what was going on. The trainer had a shock collar on the dog. He was using it to teach simple commands like 'stay' and 'come'. After watching him shock the dog numerous times and seeing the dog run from him in fear, I went over to ask him to please stop. He refused. I have studied animal behavior and have trained countless dogs and even wild animals. A good trainer would NEVER have to resort to this cruel method of 'training' for simple commands. The current gold standard for animal training is positive reinforcement. What I observed was only negative reinforcement and positive punishment. These practices are, at best, ineffectual, and, at worst, detrimental to the health and welfare of the animal as well as the long-term training outcome. I am appalled that any trainers are still using these techniques. I urge those of you looking to humanely and effectively train your pets- please look elsewhere.

Cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Jay Trainer, from AlphA & Omega Dog Training He is incredibly thorough and thoughtful in his service (in my case, puppy socialization) and genuinely cares about my dog (Belly) To be honest, when Jay Trainer show up for our weekly training with Belly, Belly seem to be ready.
Living in a large apartment community with lots of dogs, it was extremely important to me that my puppy be comfortable and friendly with people and animals and this is exactly what I've gotten Jay Trainer help. In fact, he is pretty much the friendly and comfortable person around my puppy and I notice around the community now. I receive compliments on nearly every walk I take my puppy on about how well behaved and friendly he is.
Thanks to AlphA & Omega Dog Training we (Belly & I) are ready for the next training model.
