Applied Animal Herbal Choices for Pets is a behaviour led consultation focussing on Zoopharmacognosy, the process by which animals in the wild naturally forage and select plants to self-medicate. In an Applied Animal Herbal Choices session, we re-create that 'wild' environment by showing you how to offer herbs, essential oils, fixed oils and herb infused oils - many of the plant extracts they might forage for in the wild – the animals to select and utilise what they need for their wellbeing via inhalation, ingestion or topically. Animals with issues such as dry coat, or immune issues, emotional, physical or behavioural problems, have responded well to this method.
Founded in 1917 by animal welfare pioneer, Maria Dickin CBE, PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity. Operating through a UK-wide network of 48 Pet Hospitals, PDSA provides low cost and free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need and promotes responsible pet ownership.
