- YolandaJul 21, 2024Yes and No
Yes, they say dog friendly but…we got there about 7 pm there was no one in the restaurant and the girl sat us inside, ok kool. It had poured down rain all day and so there was no patio seating. A few minutes later a guy came by and said “oh if you have a dog you have to be by a door and the door has to be open”. So they moved us 1 table over with an open door. Ok fine, but my guy likes to move around and watch what’s going on. So the guy comes back over and says the dog has to stay by the door. Ok but it’s hard to keep him that restrained. He is very well behaved, he’s on a leash and can’t go very far, but he likes to see what’s going on and again no one else in the restaurant. Needless to say it was a stressful meal, food was ok but not great.
- Alicia & JuanJul 14, 2024Allows dogs indoor
Allowed us and our dog to sit indoor. Prices were moderate. Husband enjoyed his Cajun alfredo and the shrimp on my poboy was tasty. They provided a to go container for water for our dog Maggie. There isn’t a dog menu but we were able to order a cheeseburger off the kids menu which Maggie enjoyed. My lemonade tasted freshly made and my husband’s drink was good. It was nice to have an indoor spot to escape the heat.

- CherieMar 1, 2024Very dog friendly
Our shepherd was allowed inside and was happy to lay down at our feet for lunch. A bit pricey for an average meal but we were happy to pay so we could dine with our four legged friend

- ChellyJun 30, 2019Perfect Dinner
We went in for dinner around 9pm. We brought our dog Bella and we sat inside and they even brought us a water bowl and a treat! The food was amazing and our server was very good. I’m happy we found this spot through bring Fido!

Came here for dinner with my golden retriever and had an amazing time. Staff was super in love with her and brought her water right away. The food was super good, I would definitely come back next time I am here

We were walking around NOLA with our small Chorkie and it was 95 degrees out. We walked up to the front, the staff was amazing, they sat us and brought our pup a bowl of water before even taking our orders. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent and everyone from the bartenders to the GM came up to us to say hello to our pup and make sure we were enjoying our meal! Highly recommend!!

The atmosphere is fun and very “NoLa”! The food is delicious, wait staff is friendly, and the dogs are welcomed.
- AliApr 24, 2019Great Spot Right Downtown
We sat with our two shepherd x dogs in this wonderfully situated restaurant/bar. The building is beautiful, very old. Staff were very friendly and loved the dogs. The food was great and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in for Bloody Marys and light lunch with our Frenchie on January 23rd. Happy time for all and an awesome oyster poor boy.

We were nervous at first but they made our dog feel right at home. Everyone from the hostess to the server was super friendly! The food was really good too!

Brought our dogs in today for the Barkus parade. I had a few of my friends and their dogs with us. So a total of five dogs. Loved the water bowls and treats for the dogs. Will be back again!

Wonderfully dog friendly, great food, great bar! Will be back! Highly recommend!
- DavidMore than a year agoAmazingly Dog Friendly and Inexpensive!
This is not top of the line food, but it's hearty New Orleans fare in a late 1700's building (where Tennessee Williams hung out by the pool!) and they let dogs at tables IN the restaurant!
- SueMore than a year agoVERY dog friendly!
We were wandering around on Toulouse wondering where we could go with the dogs. We were hot and so were they. Before I could look on bring fido we walked by Chartres house and the bartender ran over from the inside and said bring the babies inside! We are dog friendly! They immediately sat us at the little tables that are half inside/half outside and brought my three dogs cold water. Very friendly staff and so sweet to my dogs. New Orleans is a dog friendly city anyhow but this place treated all of us like we were movie stars! Highly recommend and the food is very tasty also!

Excellent service and food was great. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our large party and two dogs. Would eat here regularly if I was a local.

Get the New Orleans sampler. They loved our dogs, gave them water and even let us sit inside. We liked it so much we went there twice.
- AngelaMore than a year agoDogs Allowed Inside
This place actually has a couple tables for dogs inside. They're right on the edge of the dining area, closest to the sidewalk which is great for people watching and to have a little space. Lola's only 8 mos and she likes to wander a bit so this was perfect. The staff was very welcoming, brought her a bowl of water and a couple milkbone biscuits. The food was good - I had the fish po boy, and I'd order it again.
- JeannieMore than a year agovery dog friendly
Incredibly doggie acceptable. I was told that dogs are welcome inside the actual restaurant/bar and outside in the courtyard. Friendly staff, good food. Can't beat that! Prices are middle range. Not budget eating but won't break you.

The waitresses were all so friendly. Our pups immediately were given water upon our arrival. The beers were delicious and our food was wonderful! Highly recommend the bread pudding and blackened chicken alfredo. It was a bit loud, just because it was a friday night, and there were 3 parades that went by while we were there. But all in all, it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

The look and feel of the place is classic. The service was very good and the food came out fast! Everything from drinks, appetizers, and food was top notch. They were extremely nice to our morkie and brought out a water bowl! Definitely come here.

What a great experience. Our waitress even made sure Blaze had her own plate for her hamburger patty. Very dog and people friendly.
- JamieMore than a year agoGreat Place!!
This place was very welcoming and staff was very dog friendly. The cool outdoor seating was a nice touch for this August heat. The food was also perfect with a variety of creole food....boudin, alligator bites, bourbon punch, and the "taste of" platter is a must!!
- Gary and ShanteleMore than a year agoGreat Service
Could not have asked for better service and food. Hot July day so they called us in for a cool table. Our Basset Hound, Max had ice water before we ever got seated. Great cool cocktails , ample supply of dog biscuits and bacon. We had BBQ shrimp, corn and crab bisque and shrimp PoBoys. Probably the best service we ever received in any restaurant.
- PollyMore than a year agoFabulous!
Great atmosphere, great food, welcomed us and our pup with open arms.
- JohnMore than a year agoSuch charm
The waitress was divine & funny. The server and bartender were also so friendly. Everyone loved our dog, too!
- BeckyMore than a year agoDog Friendly and Excellent Food
This is the place to eat or have a drink if you have your dog with you in New Orleans. The hostess welcomed us and immediately brought water over to our table for our dog. The staff came over and gave him pets and were so friendly to us. Their crawfish bread appetizer was delicious!! We highly recommend Chartres House!!
- AmberMore than a year agoPerfect place to bring your dog!
Had a hard time finding an air conditioned place for our puppy and this place is perfect! Cold beer and water!
- ChelseaMore than a year agoGood Place
Atmosphere was good, food was ok, service was lacking. We brought our 4 month puppy, sat in the courtyard. They brought her water... Very friendly. Server sort of forgot about the people..
- PressMore than a year agoreall good
Kind of an open bar/restaurant, good for Fido. Plus you can see street traffic as you eat. The blackened red fish was really good.
