Lovely patio setting and ambience. Friendly service, dog welcome. I had a delicious salad and mussels mourniere, with warm French bread to dip in the sauce. Highly recommend!

Definitely on the higher end but worth every penny. Food and service was amazing. Definitely recommend placing a reservation but they do take walk ins as well.
- MartinMay 6, 2022Good food, relaxed atmosphere, nice ambiance
Such a nice outdoor patio, music piped in, relaxed and positive vibe. Low key - Friday night, pup was greeted and given a bowl of water without asking. Romantic dinner or casual stop- we recommend it.

Great french food tucked off the main street. Loved not only my lunch there but my golden boy was spoiled too. Nice shade, water
- EileenOct 11, 2018Best dog friendly restaurant in Charleston
39 Rue de Jean was a must-see vacation spot for me after looking for outdoor cafes that allow dogs. I loved this place! The ambiance was so Parisian. It was very convenient to the visitor’s center garage. Tucked in an alley with a shady roof, it was a perfect place on a hot day for a cool lunch. The quiche and croissant sandwiches were excellent. The staff was so friendly, and the social media manager even took photos of our dog. I would go back anytime,

Yep, the real deal. Great food well prepared authentic and the best part, dog friendly. Waite staff showed up with the dog bowl as we sat down. Friendly, nice outdoor seating, cafe style in an alley way, just like Paris. Don't miss this one 6 stars if we could
- MorganMar 27, 2018Great place!
We went to this place because on a particularly chilly night in Charleston, we knew that they had an outdoor patio with a heater. The waiter took the time to light the heater even though it we were the people out there. It was also wonderful food and they brought our dog water! We would go there many times more if we were staying longer!

We come to Charleston often and this is always our first stop. We brought our Jack Russell with us for lunch the last time we were here and the staff was so nice to her. Excellent food and service.

39 Rue De Jean deserves 6 bones. The staff are very canine friendly and the outside patio is larger than most we've encountered. I'm not a food critic but the menu is extensive and very well done. From Sushi to Lamb Shank? Yes. From Martinis to fine wine? Yes. All was excellent. A true recommendation if you're in Charleston with "Fido".

A very good french restaurant that allows dogs. Amazing food, good prices and excellent service, especially for the dogs. Baby friendly, also. The patio is covered, heated, very cozy and as ellegant as inside. I would definitely recommend.
- DharmaMore than a year agoLOVELY RESTAURANT!
I'd give 4.5 bones, and the 1/2-bone reduction is only because my chicken Francaise was just ok- excellent sauce but chicken was mushy. However, as far as dog-friendly, it was WONDERFUL! We had a candlelit dinner on the patio with plenty of room for our pitbull Kismet to hang out, and they brought her a carafe of ice water. It is SO nice to be able to have such a lovely dinner out with our girl! My husband said his steak au poivre was as good as any he's had anywhere. This is a very popular restaurant, so be sure to make reservations or be prepared to wait a long time.
We'll definitely go back; their doggie hospitality is greatly appreciated. :)
