Let me start off by saying my food was very good and I had the nachos . My husband had the barbecue and it was very Soso but I always tell him not to order barbecue outside of Texas and he does anyway.! I wish we had the same experience as others did in terms of them being very welcoming and bringing our dog water because none of that happened. Plus it was a weeknight and it was somewhat busy but again it was a weeknight. We really wanted this place to be great based on the other reviews but I wouldn’t return:(

Good food, friendly service and obviously a popular spot with lines to get seated. But a very short wait for a table, with a large mostly shaded outdoor area front and back. Very dog welcoming. We had chicken fajitas and BBQ chicken dishes. Both were very good. Would recommend rain or shine.

I had an hour and a half to kill be fore I could check into my hotel and Cowgirl BBQ promising. When I drove by there was a band playing on the patio and it looked packed. But they found my pup and I a table right away. The staff and the customers treated me like a regular and the food and beer was good.

This was an experiential treat. A table in the shade, great service and better food with live music in the background for a late lunch launched Cowgirl BBQ into my top 10 dog restaurants in the country. FYI: As a vegetarian, I go to BBQ places because my husband loves the food with the understanding that I will probably enjoy coleslaw and a biscuit. The menu at Cowgirl had something for every dietary need - from vegan to GF to carnivore delights. 10 stars.

This was my favorite food stop on our four-day trip through northern New Mexico. It's a popular place - we got there at 5 and had a 40 minute wait to get in. But, it's worth it. They have a very large patio, and several other people had dogs. They brought a water bowl for ours. We got lucky and were seated in a covered booth on the patio -- lucky because it started pouring rain right after we got there. Their dog-friendliness was on display when they moved all the people who weren't as sheltered as we were into the restaurant, including all those with dogs. I was really surprised by the food. Santa Fe isn't known for its BBQ, but this was some of the best I've ever had. (I had the BBQ Sampler #1 with chicken, ribs and brisket.) The sauce was mild in sweetness with a great spicy bite. For dessert, I had a great chocolate cake and ice cream with red chili powder (not a combination I would have thought of, but incredibly tasty).
Really great place. I'd highly recommend it if you're traveling through Santa Fe with dogs.
- MindyJul 4, 2021Great atmosphere ok food and service
they have live music on the patio and was open later than most restaurants. the food was good not great. same with the service
- JillJun 27, 2021Dog friendly and amazing food
We ate here when all the other dog friendly places required reservations. Despite a crowd, they seated us fairly quickly on the patio, with the tables spread apart enough to give Fido room to be comfortable. I could not have been happier considering my dog can be a little nervous—he was perfectly relaxed. AND food was great!! not just BBQ served.
- PattiMay 10, 2021Nice Open Patio
Plenty of outdoor seating on the patio with your dog. Staff was very friendly and brought a water bowl for our dog. Food was wonderful.

IF you’re looking for a place to bring your pup along, Cowgirl is your place. They welcomed our Maltese, Dino. The service was top-notch, Jeff was friendly and attentive. The owner, Patrick was checking in on all the tables, ensuring everyone was having a good experience. The pulled pork sandwich was fantastic and there were plenty of choices of cold beverages to wash it down. The kitchen even made our Dino a scrambled egg. We look forward to many more lunches on the patio.

The outdoor patio is large and super charming. We had a late dinner with our doggo and he was totally welcomed. They often have live music too!

I'm sitting on the patio with my 2 year old pup at my feet. The fourth dog in the past hour just showed up and each one is greated with water bowel. Dog friendly is an understatement. I couldn't be happier right now...
- LeonaMore than a year agodog friendly eating spot
This was a good place to bring you dog. Only downside was being a bit crowded if you have a larger dog and a bit loud for noise sensitive pets. But all this could be due to a large party going on at same time. May want to take into consideration a wait time if going on weekend or busy season.
- ZACKMore than a year agoIgnored us
I went inside and asked if they could serve us on the patio, was given a menu ordered a beer, then was ignored for 20 minutes. They totally forgot about us, the host was busy literally picking his nose and I saw our waiter walking around doing nothing for the entire time. Manager had no idea so we just left.

Dined on the patio with Chip, our dog. Server brought water for Chip and food was good. I would recommend.
