This place seemed to have a cult following. We chose it because we wanted po’ boys and were told it was where the locals go. The shrimp po’ boy was standard but the roast beef one was STELLAR as was the jambalaya.
In terms of being dog friendly, it was great. Patio is covered and large. Do bring your own water bowl. If you plan to dine in and you’re alone you can order ahead and pick up at the outside counter, otherwise you’ll need someone to go inside to order and pick up the food. They also have a drive thru! - DawnMay 14, 2021Best poboys and best dog hang out
this should be your #1 poboy destination- they’re known throughout for the best in the biz (see the poboy fest winner on their menu!) and out of the touristy area so only locals or tourists in the know are here!
this will be your dogs fave hang of the trip! order your food at the window up the steps and alcohol at the lower bar and sit at a covered outdoor table and enjoy!
oysters are only wednesday and Thursday so plan accordingly but the shrimp and James brown poboys are the winners! for $5.99, get their side of jambalaya and share it- so good! and order the smaller poboy unless you’re sharing.
don’t forget to try a Porch Lemonade frozen drink too!!!!
my dog was in dog heaven! - DamianApr 2, 2021Pretty good Po’ Boy!
This was our first time in NOLA. Found this place from a man at the dog park. Po’ Boys were good but the jambalaya was great. Nice covered patio for pup, bring water bowl though.

I guess this type of food is not my cup of tea! I did not care for the poor boy sandwich but the cheese fries where good and the bottle root beer was awesome. There is lots of outdoor covered seating, it was a little warm but we could bring our dog. I would probably not go back.

Get the Surf and Turf Po'boy. Large covered patio with plenty of seating for you and your dogs.

Parkway Bakery & Tavern is a true representation of New Orleans style food. It has been around for decades and knows how to please customers. Order their famous roast beef poboy or the shrimp poboy! Shrimp will be spilling off the freshly baked bread! Outdoor sitting is ample and covered from the elements. It is certainly a must do when you visit New Orleans! It's where locals go for an awesome meal. Very affordable!
