Highland Brewing Company

After an afternoon of hiking or sightseeing with your four-legged friend, head over to Asheville's oldest brewery to sample some local craft beer. Highland Brewing Company has a dog-friendly beer garden and meadow, with an outdoor bar, and large stage where rock or bluegrass bands play most weekend nights during warmer months. While you enjoy a pint of Gaelic Ale or Oatmeal Porter on the outdoor beer garden, your pup can “belly up” to the water bowls provided. Pair your brew with munchies from one of the many rotating food trucks. Visit Website

    Very Dog Friendly Beer Hall

Dogs are allowed in tap room as long as they are 'well behaved and on leash'.

    Great place overall

Wide open, clean space. Friendly staff, excellent beer, plenty of room to spread out with your pooch, really just a perfect outdoor setting.

    one of our favorites

visited during phase III for NC of Covid-19 — dog friendly inside, on their patio, and outside in their meadow. They have dog bowls for water available, and they are just as happy to seat you inside as outside with your pup! I would recommend this place to all of my friends with dogs!!

    Dogs are Allowed

Just wanted to confirm that dogs are now allowed inside the taproom. Great atmosphere, thanks for allowing the pups to enjoy Avl's original craft beer destination.

Love Highland, but needs to be more pet friendly

Highland Brewery would be an excellent place to sit back in it’s spacious tasting room with your friendly canine. But they do not let dogs inside at all. No kitchen, just food trucks. This is probably one of the only breweries in Asheville that does not let pets inside. 🤔

    Can’t Go Inside

Dogs aren’t welcome inside, which is surprising bc they don’t have a kitchen and the place is very spacious. It was freezing cold and we tried sitting at the first table by the door, but got told we had to stay outside. They do let you in if it’s raining, so I give it a 2 rather than 1 bc of this.

    Great Brewery!

Awesome brewery. Very nice people and super dog friendly. Had a big meadow if you want a more quiet area or outdoor patio for a more social setting.

    Wonderful time

We had a great time at the brewery. They have a great patio, a meadow filled with music and green space (along with baggies), and a rooftop bar. There were dog bowls out and the staff was incredibly friendly and sweet. It is true that the dog cannot go on the tour, but I don't know if a single brewery tour that allows for dogs on the production floor.

    Not dog friendly

No dog bowls. Can't take dog inside. Can only bring one beer out at time, requiring standing in line twice to get my friend and me beers and get back to dog outside. I recommend New Belgium first and The Wedge next as dog friendly breweries in Asheville.

    patio or field

Upstairs somewhat shaded patio outside for dogs and their owners outside the tasting room and huge area under the trees where they have live music, kid friendly and outside taps.
