Reviews
Visitors generally find the Highland Brewing Company to be a dog-friendly establishment with a spacious outdoor area, including a patio and meadow, where pets are welcome. Some travelers express disappointment that dogs are not permitted inside the taproom, although the brewery has recently updated its policy to allow dogs indoors.

Dogs are allowed in tap room as long as they are 'well behaved and on leash'.
- DanielleMay 29, 2021Great place overall
Wide open, clean space. Friendly staff, excellent beer, plenty of room to spread out with your pooch, really just a perfect outdoor setting.

visited during phase III for NC of Covid-19 — dog friendly inside, on their patio, and outside in their meadow. They have dog bowls for water available, and they are just as happy to seat you inside as outside with your pup! I would recommend this place to all of my friends with dogs!!
- JeremySep 18, 2020Dogs are Allowed
Just wanted to confirm that dogs are now allowed inside the taproom. Great atmosphere, thanks for allowing the pups to enjoy Avl's original craft beer destination.
- BeccaSep 6, 2020Super Dog Friendly Inside And Out
great place with a dog friendly patio, indoor area, and beer garden. perfect!
- DeannaJul 9, 2020Update: dogs allowed inside!
They've recently changed their rules! Dogs are allowed inside! They have bowls for water too.
- LisaJan 19, 2020Love Highland, but needs to be more pet friendly
Highland Brewery would be an excellent place to sit back in it’s spacious tasting room with your friendly canine. But they do not let dogs inside at all. No kitchen, just food trucks. This is probably one of the only breweries in Asheville that does not let pets inside. 🤔
- NicoleJan 6, 2020Can’t Go Inside
Dogs aren’t welcome inside, which is surprising bc they don’t have a kitchen and the place is very spacious. It was freezing cold and we tried sitting at the first table by the door, but got told we had to stay outside. They do let you in if it’s raining, so I give it a 2 rather than 1 bc of this.
- RoryOct 9, 2019Great Brewery!
Awesome brewery. Very nice people and super dog friendly. Had a big meadow if you want a more quiet area or outdoor patio for a more social setting.

We had a great time at the brewery. They have a great patio, a meadow filled with music and green space (along with baggies), and a rooftop bar. There were dog bowls out and the staff was incredibly friendly and sweet. It is true that the dog cannot go on the tour, but I don't know if a single brewery tour that allows for dogs on the production floor.

No dog bowls. Can't take dog inside. Can only bring one beer out at time, requiring standing in line twice to get my friend and me beers and get back to dog outside. I recommend New Belgium first and The Wedge next as dog friendly breweries in Asheville.

Upstairs somewhat shaded patio outside for dogs and their owners outside the tasting room and huge area under the trees where they have live music, kid friendly and outside taps.
