This place is always bumping and there is typically a wait for patio seating. The patio is small but the staff is really friendly and made our pup feel very welcome, bringing her a bowl of water and a couple of treats. They are only open til 2 but most of their breakfast menu is available all day. I got the scramble, which was tasty and hearty. My husband got the BBQ brisket sandwich, which he said ate more like a sloppy Joe. The homemade potato salad was delicious.

Pet friendly patio, but it is small. Most tables seat two, but there is also seating for a party of four, or a larger group can sit, side by side, at a tall table facing the street. Since that section was taken, our party split, with two of us and the pups sitting outside. It was a lovely morning, a little on the cool side. There was only one heat lamp working and someone was already using it, but a warm cup of tea fixed things right away. My husband and I were very happy with our breakfast choices. Service was great, very friendly and attentive severs.

Both the waitstaff and the customers were very welcoming to our dog on our visit. Our waitress Cathy asked our dog’s name as soon as we were seated on the patio, gave her a small treat and both talked to and remembered her name throughout our meal. I would say three or four other dogs came while we ate and each was treated just as well. Customers were friendly and chatted with us about their dogs at home. The food was very good “home-style and filling” and I recommend Red Kettle. We had been there 15 years ago on our last visit to Idyllwild and will probably visit again on our next.
