Although Your babies are aloud to sit outside on the patio they are not aloud to have any water or food on the property.
- CarolApr 17, 2024Not overly Dog friendly
A sign outside says No dogs except service dogs but I asked anyway and they said it was fine on patio. Although my waiter said he wasn’t supposed to give her a water bowl but he did cut a takeout container so I could give her some of mine. Stella didn’t like sitting right on edge by water and boats but eventually got used to it. Not much room for her to sit. I should have asked to move. Food was expensive if you bought the special. Not sure if we would go back
- PaulaMar 30, 2024Top Dog Eatery for Humans with Canines
Katie’s Restaurant was recommended to us by the captain of one of Galveston’s other dog friendly attractions, “BayWatch Tours.” He said the fish was right off the boats moored behind the eatery. Since the dolphin tour was great, we decided to try it and were not disappointed. The spacious outdoor dog patio is very comfortable for humans and the view view gives you a feeling of truly visiting the harbor. The menu offers a wide variety from full delicious dinners to lighter salads and snacks. Remember to bring your pet’s water bowl. We will visit again so. So should you.

We returned to Katie’s for dinner again. There was no problem bringing along our puppy! He was even provided with a bowl of water on the deck. The food is delish! Sitting on the deck also provides a great view of passing ships! Don’t miss the fresh seafood available for sale next door! Also if you’re a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, wear it proudly! There is a very delightful gentleman that works at Katie’s, who likes to joke about the Steelers! He’s a gem!

- JackOct 1, 2023Good stuff, we’ll be back!
Took a quick trip to Galveston Island to clear my head and got hungry so we had a late lunch at Katie's Seafood House. Ceviche to start. Chef’s special with recommended toppings for main. All their seafood comes from next door at Katie's Seafood Market. Found them on BringFido and they were so accommodating with a beautiful patio spot overlooking the water and various vessels. Teddy seemed to like the view.
Good stuff! - JessicaJul 19, 2023Good food & dog friendly
Dog friendly! We had to go up the side entrance to the patio for seating with our 95 pound Labrador retriever - we couldn’t bring him inside. But once seated on the patio he was given a bowl of water while we were waited on. The food came out all at once and it was delicious! We got crab mac & cheese, kids fried shrimp, kids chicken nuggets, skillet mashed potatoes, mediterranean style grouper, and golden tile fishersman fricassee(?).

Allowed us to walk pups through restaurant to aid paws getting burnt from heat. Never brought dog water but was shaded and nice atmosphere
- MarianMay 26, 2023Great food, service and pet friendly
Katie’s is top rate seafood, great location and very dog friendly.
- DamonJul 23, 2022Best place for Fido and his humans
Staff is very friendly! ♥️ They brought Fido his own bowl of ice water as soon as we sat down. Everyone loved and made over him. There is even a grassy area outside the restaurant to take your furry friends potty! Food was wonderful and is fresh caught every day! Would highly recommend for fur babies and their humans!
- STEVEMay 23, 2022Disappointed
1. Way over priced
2. Heavily breaded on shrimp
3. Ala Carte for 48.00? No salad, side, barley could get water.
4. All good restaurants bring bread none.
5. Again to pricey for what the meal consisted of.
6. Catch to table is the hook, but all the restaurants in the area use same vendors.Location great, food thumbs down. Definitely not a go back, Willie G is way better!!!
- CarlaApr 9, 2022Good food!
I ordered the Lunch Fresh Fish and Shrimp Basket served with Fries and Cole Slaw. Fried to perfection. They brought Tillie a bowl of water. It was a mild windy day, but protected on the patio and the propane heaters made it very comfortable. We watched the seagulls and the boat traffic on the water. Very enjoyable.

We took our two little Yorkies to spend time in Galveston and decided to visit Katie’s Seafood due to the dog friendly reviews.
Our little Yorkies are 5 and 9 pounds. When our table was ready we asked if we needed to go the dog entrance, but due to the stroller they were in and their size, we were allowed to walk (push them) through the restaurant to the outdoor seating.
The hostess and waitress were very accommodating and stopped by several times to interact with our dogs.
We ordered drinks and appetizers, the smoky boudin balls and the garlic cheese toast with crab and shrimp.
Shortly thereafter, we ordered an unseasoned chicken breast for our pups, which we have done numerous times at dog friendly restaurants. Our waitress came back and said that they couldn’t cook the chicken breast for our pups, because they couldn’t eat at the restaurant. We were somewhat surprised, because this was the first time that this has ever happened to us.
Before our appetizers arrived, we pulled out our portable water bowl and filled it and set at the corner of the table. Our dogs were able to reach this from the stroller. So they were able to drink up. Within minutes, we were told that we can’t have the water bowl on the table, so we removed the bowl as not to cause any issues.
It’s a health code thing they kept saying. We did what we could do to respect that.
Our appetizers arrived and were very good except we thought the garlic cheese toast didn’t have enough cheese.. It’s wasn’t stringy when we pulled it apart.
My wife and I felt that they were watching us and our dogs so we decided to finish our appetizers and move on.
So the final tally, the food we ordered was a 4, the dog friendly rating was 2 two based upon our experience here -vs- all other places we have visited over the past several years.
Having said that, we do plan on returning without our dogs.
Your mileage might vary.
- KAug 2, 2021Very Pup friendly and great food!
Katie’s has a wonderfully huge deck that provided plenty of shade for about 20+ tables. Water view. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and provided water for our fur baby. Would recommend it highly!

This was our first time to bring our dog on vacation and to a restaurant. The food was great and they greeted our dog with a bowl of water! it is on the water and our dog loved watching all the activities and birds!
- MistyOct 21, 2020Wonderful food!!!
I tried the smoked shrimp stuffed boudin balls. They were amazing! I've never had boudin before so a new experience. Dogs are welcome in their outdoor patio.
