- AdrianSep 1, 2024Excellent food, service, atmosphere and pup friendly!
It's the third year in a row that we come to Pepe's for dinner while spending a few days in Provincetown and it never disappoints. The food is very well prepared and tasty. In particular the Oysters Rockefeller, the Cataplana and the Cod were delicious! The staff is friendly and service is on point. The overall restaurant setting has a classic maritime vibe. And to top it all they are pet friendly! So we could have our pup in one of the designated tables. We'll keep coming back! Totally recommended!

The stars I gave were based on a prior experience because they refused to seat us tonight. I rarely give a bad review as I feel not returning speaks for itself, but we went there tonight to give them another chance. As we were checking in for our reservation, which we made for an outdoor patio table because we were bringing our two Frenchies, we were told their policy was they could only allow one dog per table. Mind you, Provincetown is a very dog friendly town, so this took us by surprise.
With this news, we walked away, but then thought that this makes no sense, so we went back to speak to a manager. They called the manager to come speak to us. She explained that it was their restaurant policy to only allow one dog per table for “safety reasons”.
If there is anything I hate, it’s someone following policy without putting any thought into it. I asked the manager where we would be seated, knowing that I was looking at it right in front of me. She said on the patio and pointed to where I was already looking. You see, all the tables are pushed up against a rail, so only one side is exposed to waitstaff traffic.
I get that two 100 pound dogs might be a little invasive, but our two 20 pound French bulldogs don’t pose much of a threat. And with their outdoor seating arrangements, the dogs would likely be under the table and away from any foot traffic.
While you’re rethinking the quality of your food, Pepe’s, you should also look at your policies.
For everyone else, there are plenty of really good restaurants in Provincetown, so skip this one.

First, the food here is not what it used to be. second, they now have a rule limiting dogs to one per party because… “safety reasons?” So, yes, our well-behaved 23 and 29-pound frenchies were deemed a “safety concern.” There are plenty of other better options in town.
- RachelJul 5, 2023Selectively dog friendly
our dog was resting on the bench seating next to us and we were told to get him down. the table next to us however had their dog doing the same and eating off a plate at the table and no one said a thing but everyone saw. When I mentioned it to the manager on the way out I was met with a condescending comment and an eye roll. So many other good places to go that are dog friendly for all well behaved pups.

Our party of four and a boxer were well accommodated on a sheltered terrace. The stout breeze made us appreciate the adjustable curtains. We were well cared for by the staff: fresh water for our dog and fresh drinks when we wished. Food was excellent. We will be back.
- JoyceAug 28, 2021Perfect spot for lunch with our pup
A nicely revamped Pepes has several dog friendly tables on their side patio. We were seated in the best spot at the corner with nice beach/water view. Food and drinks were good. Service was excellent.
- BryanJul 23, 2021Dog Tolerant, but not friendly
Based on the older reviews, they must of changed their policy on dogs. They only allow dogs in a very small spot next to parked cars & entrance. If you want to stare at parked calls & people waiting to be seated, this is the place for you. No water bowls offered to dog. Much better places for food and view with your pets. Is it worth the price if traveling with your pet.

We ate here three days in a row with our 8 month old Golden Retriever. The first thing they asked when we sat down is what Charlie would like to drink :) The food was excellent as well as the cocktails. it is nice and relaxing down by the water. This is my top choice for a dog friendly venue in Ptown. We will be back!

We attempted to bring our dog here today and were told that the portion of the restaurant where they allow dogs wasn’t open. They did refer us to their sister restaurant, Patio.
- AdAug 25, 2018Great Food
All three of us had the pasta and seafood dishes and they surprisingly excellent. The oysters Rockefeller were also very good. The restaurant was very dog friendly. The best meal that we had in PTown all week. They were very dog friendly.
- DaniAug 10, 2018Perfect during a summer afternoon rain shower
We stopped here as soon as it started raining and were not disappointed with the food and friendly service. The view was amazing and the dog friendly section is quite comfortable.

After looking at so many reviews listed on this site, the four of us decided to have a late lunch with our 4 extremely well-behaved dogs. At first, the waiter was fine. Then after we received our food, I asked pur bus person to please get our waiter. No one ever came back. So I then asked another waiter to get our waiter. This time a waitress came to our table and asked us How she could help us. She told our party that the waiter passed the table to her! I took a breath and ordered 4 hamburgers for our dogs. She looked at me strangely and walked away. Then she returned and said, "I was told that I have to charge you for the whole meal." I said, "Fine." Of course, she then came back and said that the hamburgers would have to be a to-go order because our dogs were not allowed to eat on their deck. For a supossely dog-friendly restraurant, It did not seem to us that it deserves 5 stars - we will dine elsewhere.
- NatalieMore than a year agoBad experience
They no longer allow dogs anywhere except a small back patio (which was flooding due to the rain). The staff were rude to our party of 5 +2 behaved dogs. No one else was at the restaurant and it was a downpour. They would not even put tables together. And then changed their minds on even serving us. Extremely rude.
- JamieMore than a year agoGood food, great drinks and super dog-friendly
It's August 22, 2015 and we just left Pepe's. The staff were friendly. Plenty of menu items that will satisfy everyone from vegetarian to carnivore. Dogs are welcome on the upper deck.
- GeorgeMore than a year agoGreat experience
Pablo was more than welcome. Food was great! And water bowl was offered. Mango margarita was dope.
- SaraMore than a year agodog-friendly?
Nice place , nice food. We were there a few times last 2013 summer and our dog joined our meal at the patio. But the last time we tried to get the lunch there , they changed their rules and did now allow to bring the dog in. We were very disappointed, will try again this summer
