Entry Requirements

Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Morocco with your pet:
  • Morocco is a high risk country for rabies. Before receiving an import permit to return to the U.S., travelers must obtain 2 pictures of their pet's front teeth, a CDC Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Record, a serologic titer from an approved laboratory and a passport photo of the owner. Once these items are obtained, apply for a permit for your pet to return to the U.S. at this link. For further guidance on returning to the U.S. with your pet from a high risk country, contact the CDC directly at cdcanimalimports@cdc.gov
  • Obtain a health certificate issued within 3 days of travel by a licensed veterinarian from the country of origin.
  • This health certificate must certify that the pet is free of any case of contagious disease for at least 6 weeks prior to travel.
  • Pet must be microchipped for identification purposes.
  • Upon arrival in Morocco, your pet will be subject to a health check by a veterinarian of the National Office of Sanitary Safety and Food products at the border post. They will determine whether your pet will be admitted into Morocco. If your pet is denied, you will still be subject to a 10 dirham fee.

Quarantine Information

Pets traveling to Morocco do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above.
