Love this area! Everyone is so welcoming to pets, which is the best part.

We loved this area!!! Most shops and restaurants allowed dogs inside. Lots of water bowls around the area. Dogs are able to ride the ferry, which is free! We walked down river street then jumped on the ferry to ride back to the other end of the street.

Very nice walk by the river. Lots of dogs. But also a lot of people and difficult to walk with a dog and avoid that anyone step on her. We left but would still definitely recommend on a day and time when it is not as crowded.
- JennaSep 7, 2021Great walk along the river
Nice wide sidewalk with a lot of different things to see and visit, including a few outdoor markets. Lots of water dishes along.

This is a dog friendly and relaxed part of Savannah!
- MandyJun 6, 2018Super Pup Friendly
Several places allow pups inside! Water bowls everywhere. Lots of stimulation so ours got wore out quick but nothing a stop at one of the several pet friendly restaurants cant fix!

Better to visit during the day. Gets packed at night with every one going to the bars. Fyi to get to the river you have to drive down these access roads which dont look like roads and are cobblestone. If you have never driven on cobblestone it is very bumpy and these are very old roads. Parking is very hard to find down at the river. Its best to park at the parking garage at olgethrope or close by and walk to the river. South carolina is right accross the river. Sometimes large cargo ships come through and its really neat to see. Lots of outside restaurant seating and a few dog friendly shops.

We visited with our 75 lb goldendoodle. We were charmed by the cobblestone streets, historic buildings, river, and dog-friendly shops. Savannah Bee Company was our favorite, but we also visited Black Dog General Store and Five and Dime General Store which were both dog-friendly. We found pet-friendly outdoor dining at Cafe M, Dockside Seafood, and Vic's on the River. Can't wait to visit again!

Wilson (our shih tzu) loved walking down by the river. Many of the shops and restaurants are pet friendly. I suggest visiting the Savannah Bee Company and eating the red beans and rice at Huey's on the River.

Had a great walk with our pups on River St. It was pretty crowded but it was still very enjoyable.

Had a great walk at the Riverfront Area. Stopped at Tubby's for dinner and the waiter brought our girl ice water. She was treated very well. Found a great hotel that welcomed her as well. I would recommend this area to anyone with a dog who travels with them.

We were quite pleasantly surprised how pet friendly the riverfront area was. Munchkin was welcomed into just about everywhere we wanted to go. Highly recommend coffee at Vic's!

The river front area is very dog friendly. A lot of the shops and restaurants have outside seating and the waterfront has a walkway that is all dog friendly. Most stores are dog friendly inside too!
