- JuliaJul. 17, 2021The best dog beach around!
I took my 2 year old pup there and she could not get enough! Dogs are allowed off leash but it’s your preference whether you take them off or not. I wouldn’t take your dog off leash here if they’re not completely under voice control. luckily my pup is and we had a great time!
- MegAug. 6, 2020Beautiful Dog Beach!
So we struggled to find the location right away but did eventually find it. We parked in the main parking lot ($10) and walked towards the Tides Restaurant. Once near Tides (as well as the #1 and #2 entrance to Nahant Beach) cross the street and walk about 1/4 mile. You will see a pebble path that goes down to the beach. There is a small path that allows you to get to the beach without climbing down the rocks, however we were told there may be some poison ivy in that area. Dogs are allowed off leash and may come running up so may not be a great place for reactive dogs. Highly recommend!
- DaniellaJul. 26, 2020No parking
Took my dog here in July. No parking. Parking on street had no warning signs. Saw my car getting towed away. Taxi $20, tow yard to get my car $143, $30 parking ticket. Dont bring Fido here (unless maybe you live in Nahant). Not worth it. Wish this was explained more in the reviews. Hopefully this will save someone else from the trouble.
- StaceyJul. 1, 2020Love this Beach!
Nahant Doggie beach entrance is just after the people beach entrance to the right under the stop light. There is a path that leads down and along the beach, bay side. To get to the water you do have to climb down a few rocks, if my 15yr old blue can do it then most dogs can. The beach was clean as I could see and people were friendly. The beach is open all year round which is amazing. Beach going in the Summer is way more fun! The only down side is the walk from the parking lot. It was a bit much for blue but we still made it and she had a great time. Parking was only $10 which is great compared to some other beaches. Can wait to go again! P.S. look out for jelly fish!
- CamilleJun. 30, 2020Resident sticker parking only
Great beach but all of Nahant is resident sticker parking and aggressive ticketing.
If there is space the paid parking lot near the Tides is not too far of a walk.
- JKMore than a year agoThe dogs love it
My dogs love running up and down this beach. It's sometimes a bit of trouble getting the "runner" dog to come back, but it's still a lot of fun. We've even been here in the summer, but not during the day - more like 5:00 p. m. and later, and there are usually other dogs there then, too.
- MichaelaMore than a year agoGreat beach
Highly recommend nahant dog beach. Dogs and owners where all very friendly. The beach was kept clean and my two small dogs loved going. It was kind of hard to find the beach as the address brought us a little ways down the road from the actual beach.Finding parking nearby was a little difficult as well. I was disappointed that there wasn't a designated parking lot reserved for the dog beach. Over all the beach is great!
- JosianeMore than a year agoDogs welcome all year round!
We went there last week (7-14-2014) and it was great! Our dog was so happy and we could swim with him! There are signs that says "for Nahant registered dogs only" but nobody bothered us. There were bags for droppings and a trash can, the beach was clean! The beach was a lot bigger at low tide. The only thing we forgot : bringing fresh water. Ususally our dog drink the water from the lake but the ocean water is salty!
- RozeMore than a year agodoggie beach shut down
Hi Everyone, we love love love doggie beach in Nahant, there is a sign at the south end of doggie beach which states "No dogs beyond this point". The residents living in the homes are trying to shut doggie beach down because some visitors, local or not, allow their dogs beyond the posted sign. Please respect all rules, we want to keep doggie beach open. Thanks so much, Roze.
- TommyMore than a year agoAwesome!
I was looking for a doggie beach to bring my dog during the hot days of summer and this is it! Great article, great suggestions!
- MimiMore than a year agoGreat place!
I like this place because you can bring your dog to the beach here and the fact that it is only a few miles away from my home.
- GeorgeMore than a year agoPerfect
The beach was amazing, dog owners were friendly. Parking not so bad. Could use a cross walk there. Over all happy with the beach. Shhhhhh no local dog licence like the sign said. Not an issue though. Can't wait to take the dogs back!
- MarcusMore than a year agoWow!
This beach amazed me as I never knew a dog friendly beach was so close by! Our dogs made many friends, the water was clear, and the view of the city was spectacular!
The reason I am only giving it 3 stars is because of the dog owners. I have never seen so much fecal matter in my life. No wonder why dogs aren't allowed anywhere when people don't act responsibly even when they are given a dog friendly space. Don't step in the seaweed....
Nahant and the users of the beach need to clean this place up.
- JohannaMore than a year agoAwesome Beach!
Too good to be true, I think not. Beach was beautiful and spacious. Not crowded at all. Clean water. Gorgeous view of Boston. Parking was a bit rough as the main beach lot was full and the dog beach lot is for Nahant residents only. A fellow beach goer recommended finding a side street that posted no parking restrictions. Worth the drive. Will definitely make the trip again.
- MihaelaMore than a year agowhere is this beach ?????
at the indicated adress for Doggie Beach it is no beach and even if you look at the localisation on the map this adress not correspond to a beach
- Tracey and BaxterMore than a year agoBlack Rock Beach is wonderful!
We visited Black Rock Beach, aka Dog Beach today. The area was very clean and the other dog owners and dogs were wonderful. There is plenty of room to play a game of fetch, take a swim and lay out a towel. Parking only in the public lot for $3, all of the street parking requires a resident sticker. Definitely worth the trip!
