It used to be a great place now you can barely get in there with your dogs, people or anything. The people from out of state took up ALL the parking spots and they blocked the entrance to the water with their chairs and wouldn't even let people through you had to squeeze through. My 5 year old could barely fit through she almost fell and the woman sitting there wouldn't budge even with her husband saying honey you may need to move a bit because he saw my little girl trying and waiting to get through. So inconsiderate. We could all share but they come and act like they own it. When I was younger there were never out of state people and barely anyone there at all! It's aweful to watch a great spot be treated like crap.

Went to what we refer to as Sandy Pond today. Met the first white trash that regulars have been talking about. Few people actually arrive with their pooches. We always do. They are well behaved and have become part of the landscape - Lucy and Duke. Everyone they encounter enjoys the juxtaposition of a tiny dog and a very big muscular dog being best friends. When we arrive to the pond we always take care to make sure our animals are not impeding on anyone else's enjoyment of the lake. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of humans from far away towns that find the lake on facebook or who knows where and decide to visit. Everytime we visit the pond, more and more garbage litter the trails and the water. We always pick up a bag full of other people's garbage every time we visit. Today, we met up with people from another state, who were apparently not happy to see us. They were blaring music full of expletives, sucking down hard liquor, shooting up and dropping garbage all over the place- cigarette butts in the water (which i kept chasing after because the small schools of fish were trying to eat them!), sub rappers, empty cans! These people want to come to beautiful places, but destroy them in their wake. Honestly, when i go to the pond, i always bring a beer. And if once in awhile, someone offers me a smoke off their pipe, i will take it. So many people come to the pond to relax, respect and enjoy the company of others and the pond. Please, if you are someone who thinks other beach goers want to hear your offensive music, or watch you throw your garbage all over our beautiful landscape, oe listen to your loud mouth swearing - don't come here. We don't want you. You are ruining it for the dogs, the humans, the fish, the eagles, etc. For the rest of us that care about the pond, we need to start calling this behavior out while it is happening.

Only a few parking spots. No parking along the road. People don’t watch their dogs. Trash and drug paraphernalia along the trail, on the beach and in the water. On a positive note, the police are arresting people for having drugs and alcohol on beach.

NOT a good place to go anymore! The pasr two years we've seen more and more drug users hanging out leaving their needles and other trash behind. Very dangerous for both human and canine feet/paws on the path. The police are patrolling a lot more but still a BIG problem!! We saw watersnakes in the water twice in one week when we tried to go when there were fewer people too. We will NOT be bringing our fur babies there again!

I agree that this beach can get overcrowded very fast. The trail has never bothered me nor the mosquitoes. We come here for swimming in the clear waters and if it's not busy we bring our dog who absolutely loves it. Best for local people to bring their dogs in case it is too busy since it is easier for them to leave but otherwise I've seen many dogs here.
