    Nature in the city

Nice walk in a natural setting. The “easy” trails have elevation changes (~200 ft) but they are ADA compliant, 6-8 foot wide, concrete paved and use switchback to keep the grade impacts down. The tower was our destination and just beyond we found the lookout with views of San Antonio. We walked about 1.5 miles. There were many more gravel/dirt trails that covered the park but after this mornings rain we kept our shoes dry and clean by staying on the paved/concrete paths. Worth the walk in mild temperatures, not sure I would return on hot summer days.

    A Great Walking Trail

A great place to take your dog on a leashed walk. The majority of paths are paved with tree cover. Several different routes to choose from, all with lots of picnic tables and benches. The lookout over the city is beautiful. Lots of parking, but this trail is well used. Pathways will be hot in the afternoon on a warm day. We saw lots of butterflies and birds on our walk.

    Beautiful Terrain

Lots of different terrain, both paved and unpaved. Our dogs enjoyed all of the paths. Some areas were muddy due to recent storms. There are cactus along the paths to be careful of. The directional signs could use some updating as some are worn and can no longer be read. Park was clean and had garbage bonds throughout to throw away dog waste. They also supplied doggie bags and the water fountains had a fountain at the bottom for the dogs to drink from as well.

    great park

This is not a park where you can unleash your dog/s. But it's a nice hike and once up there is a nice view. Just gorgeous.

    Nice place

I'm from the pacific northwest so some of the trails there will blow you away. Spent some time in Alaska also, but for a first time at a park in the city not too bad. Most the people I walked across this Saturday were friendly and so were their dogs. Tool mine out for the first time here also. She had a blast. Though people picking up their poop seems to be an issue. Also there wasn't a sign I saw for the lookout tower that was up there. An obvious historical marker. Would be good to know the history. Trails were paved which is new to me but it gives wheelchair bound people the opportunity to get out. All trails were easy to hike on. Would go again with the family.

    The Best

I moved close to the park to take my two dogs for walking. They exercise and me too! There are two entrances, one by Nacogdoches and other by Judson Rd with enough parking space. Also there is a library and a playground by Judson entrance. Enjoy it. it is free!.
