we had a great time.. unfortunately temperature was in 80 ‘s. this would be the ultimate fantastic dog park if they had a swimming hole. but by far a great place to visit!
- EmilySep 5, 2021ABSOLUTELY SPLENDID!!!
Duchess, my boyfriend, and I, all absolutely love this park!!! u can literally be on the trails for a couple hours easily, there’s tons of room, it’s easy enough to avoid other people/dogs if you’d like, and any people I have encountered, have been very respectful and their dogs decently behaved. This and Token Creek are definitely my favorites in the area!!!!
- JordanOct 17, 2020Nice Trails
Good trails for dogs and humans. Can be busy on weekends but big enough that you can get away from people.
- AnissaSep 10, 2020Dangerous
Been going to this park for over 20...Used to be far the best. However now the Volunteers and Park staff are attempting to turn into a prairie and it has became a danger for both dogs and owners. I have maxed out pet insurance with broken and injured paws from stumps left behind, My dog has been treated for poisoning from glyphosate and other herbicides they are using. And removing all trees and scrubs make user very venerable to winter windchills and summer heat. Common to get to park and it is closed or power equipment is being used. Turning it into just another mowed area.

I have visited this park millions times and I can’t think in another park beside this one. I visited another ones to explore new places but Prairie Mariene is by far the best one on the whole country. so much space, wildlife, flowers, paths, trees and so on that makes this place unique!
- EmiliaMay 30, 2020Huge and amazing!
Prairie Moraine is a really great spot to take your dogs. It's a huge park with a walking trail that goes all the way around it. My dog is always worn out after we go here, and I get some good exercise too. I try to always bring water in a milk jug since there isn't a fountain at the park.

This park is amazing!!!!

This is, in my opinion, the best dog park in the Madison area. 186 acres of dog park!!!
Love that it is shaded in areas but there is also plenty of open areas.

Wonderful and large park. Bring water!
- WinstonMore than a year agoBy far the best dog park in Madison area
Great trails to walk with your dog, some go into woods, some trails are hilly - multiple options and a dog play/fetch space

I would love to give this park a top rating; in many ways it is a wonderful spot to take your pup for a long run, and get some good exercise in for yourself. But beware! People, for some reason, do not appear to pick up after their dogs. You are in danger of stepping in it and worse, if you have a poo eater like me, your dog will find plenty to scarf up here. Wish it weren't so...... great park otherwise.

I had heard about Prairie Moraine dog park and finally took my two labs there. This dog park is awesome! A huge area for the dogs to run, hike and play! I would suggest anyone with dogs to check it out!

This is a expansive fenced in park with many paths thru both woodlands and praire. It has some elevation changes so be prepared for some moderate hills. Benchs are located throughout. No water so bring some for you and your dog. $5 fee or license required. For those interested in geology, this area is part of where a glacer once ended. The ridgeline on the north side of the park represents debris left by the glacer when it melted away. Multiple strange rocks not native to wisconsin (erratics) have been left by the glacier. The only warning, if you have a dog that might run away, this is not the place for you. With a great amount of room to run, with cover in high grass, bushes and trees, you will have a hard time getting your dog back.

All of our dogs have loved this place. We have outside dogs who need to romp and this place does the trick. We all get our exercise walking these trails and the dogs love running in and out of the grass. They've never encountered a mean dog, and every person we see is really nice. The trails could be a little better marked as it is easy for a newbie to get lost and wander in circles.

This park is great. It has space for dogs to play and trails within the dog park that are off leash. There is another entrance next to the park to the Ice Age Trail (leash required). So whatever you wish to do, your dog is guaranteed to have a fun filled day.

As the description says, best dog park around! Who doesn't love hiking with their pooch? Tall grass, woods, and areas to play! Plenty of apple trees around to satisfy any hungry owner as well. This park is HUGE and I do not recommend it to anyone who has a disobedient dog or one who will take off and go exploring on their own.. It may take you a while to find your pup!
