This dog park turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! The 3 dogs had a great time riding running and searching all the areas and found something to chase under the storage container. They crawled underneath but couldn’t reach the critter. Take some water in with you.

If you're roadtripping on I80 plan a stop here to stretch your legs. Staff is wonderful and treated our pup with love and treats. We learned about trains and Bailey Yard is quite impressive. They have a large fenced in area where pups can play off leash. Lots of stuff for human kids to burn off some energy as well.
- ChrysteenAug 23, 2021Great stop for dogs & kids on a long boring stretch of highway
The stretch between Denver and eastern Nebraska is long & tedious. This is a fantastic place to stop, with a large fenced area in which they are encouraged to run off leash (so long as owners keep a watch for behavior & poop duty). There's a wooden train to play on/in, and dog treats by the front entrance. Fido is allowed to go through the gift shop & visitor center, even up to the observation deck, with a friendly former rail yard worker who will tell you about the operations.

We were visiting on our way through, cross country road trip back home from elder son in Utah to home in upstate NY. My younger son has autism and loves trains so we had to stop. Stewie was welcomed warmly with a nice grassy potty area near the parking lot, and a dish full of dog biscuits at the entrance! Staff were friendly and helpful. One lady suggested we go out back to the courtyard displays. It is fenced in and acts as a dog park! Stewie loved running around off-leash and climbing on the wooden train play structure. He was a very good boy riding the elevator up to the 8th floor observation deck and loved looking out over the switch yard. highly recommended activity if your dog is with you, and well worth the $8 entrance fee. If you are going to other attractions in North Platte, I think there is a discount program as well.

Loved our visit to the Golden Spike Tower. Once we arrived Allison warmly welcomed us and invited all of us including our Great Pyrenees dog Sophie to tour the tower and suggested that we watch the intro film first. Sophie loved the cool floor in front of the film screen. Their was a retired train engineer on floor 8 who answered all of our questions about the Bailey train yard - friendly & knowledgeable, Loved our visit... highly recommended.
