  Moraine Park dog beach is currently closed.

  There was a storm that made part of the path fall into the ravine. It was still accessible. Now it’s not as they thoroughly fenced it off. Also, one can park in the lot even when the beach is open as the parking there is *never* enforced.
  If one is intent on accessing the dog beach, one can enter the ravine and go from there.

  Nice Time, Nice People

  First the bad news: To use the beach and park your vehicle at the park will cost you $140 for the annual passes you will need. There is not a daily use option. This may be normal as this was our first park.

  Good news :) We were able to find parking on a little side street. You will have to look though as most are no parking. The one we found had a 2 hour limit.

  The park and beach were clean, dogs and people were friendly and well behaved. We really enjoyed our time. The woman at the park district where you get the permits was extremely informative and helpful.

  Moraine Beach

  It's a long walk to the beach but the view is spectacular. The beach area is small but large enough for my dog to have a good swim. I avoid weekends because it's overly crowded and occasionally I run into agressive dogs and irresponsible owners. The beach itself could be kept cleaner...there were times we had to clean up broken glass from late night party goers. The dog has a good time so that's what's important. the shower and hose by the parking lot is a nice touch to help avoid putting a wet and sandy dog in the car. In spite of the occasional problems, it's definitely worth bringing your dog to.
