    Wouldn’t go back

it did the trick to tire our lab out but it’s not a great dog beach. so many rocks (easy for Fido to twist their ankle) and so much seaweed on the shore.

    Seaweed

Not the most scenic. The crowd nearby was a mix of high end cars and possibly homeless folks. The dog beach had lots of drift wood, rocks, and seaweed. Not the most picturesque or the largest dog beach, but very thankful there is an off-leash area. There were only about three dogs there at the time - far less than the dogs people being to glass beach (leashed there). There is a unmarked restroom in the far end of the parking lot by the bridge. May be locked at night. Also, lots of graffiti, so maybe don't go at night.

    Great off leash beach

I love this beach. How rare it is to find an off leash beach so easily accessed. Plenty of parking. Restrooms. Semi-enclosed by bluffs. Sand and rocks and tide pools and driftwood and gentle surf. The 2 days we were there it was uncrowded. Less than 6 dogs at any one time. I highly recommend it.

    Off leash beach

this is the only official “off leash” beach in the area so it gets a 5 bone rating but as others stated, it isn’t the prettiest or least smelly beach. my dogs loved sniffing all the smells. I did not love it.

    Great Beach for Dog Adventures!

Big waves and loud surf scared our Corgi, but the soft waves here were perfect. Late afternoon there were barely any souls around. Had a wonderful time.

Great little pitstop to let the dog out to play

As others mention, not the most spectacularly beautiful beach. But still a charming little stop over and a great spot to let the pup romp

From a dog’s standpoint, this place was awesome! My pup Quinn has a great time exploring around

Not the prettiest beach, but very pet friendly

Safe and easy beach access from parking lot. Poop bags AND a trash can provided at the entrance. Fun place to let the four legged kids let loose, but not a pretty beach with imported sand.

    Too much debris

End of September. Drift wood, rocks, seaweed everywhere. Waves were actively rolling stumps / driftwood on and off the beach. We didn’t feel safe letting our dog on the beach.

Good location but might be too much for small dogs.

This was our first visit to the beach and one of our two Malti-poos got really agitated by the free-loving back packers who were in the parking lot and beach area. There area is really clean however and we will try it again when it is not a holiday weekend. There is plenty of room for them to run and everyone was really kind and understanding about our little dog trying to show everyone she was not small via her barking. Sadly we could not let them enjoy an off leash experience. Hopefully next time.

    Great Dog Friendly Beach

Our dogs enjoyed running up and down the beach. This is a great place to bring your dog, if they enjoy off leash time. It is a protected area, and there is lots to sniff.

Great beach for a water dog

Perfect beach for a dog to fetch a stick and take a swim.

Lots to smell. Protected by cliffs.

Our dogs enjoyed smelling the seaweed, driftwood, and pebbles. Easy access by trail to this beach enclosed by cliffs. Very private and big enough for space between dogs and their people. They have poop bags.
