Hiking the dog-friendly, six-mile Dog Mountain Trail in Cook, WA is a great way to spend some quality time with your pup. There is also a one-mile loop trail to the summit that provides an excellent opportunity to view the western portion of the Columbia River Gorge. Choose the eastern trail for an easier climb through wildflower fields or the western trail for a more strenuous climb through dense forests. Permits are required during the wildflower season and can be obtained in advance online. The trail is open from March until December.
