    Our absolute favorite!

We bring our deaf 2 y/o Catahoula to Mills Riverside at least once or twice a week, it’s quickly become one of his favorite places! All the other dog owners we’ve encountered on our hikes are so kind, respectful, and responsible. Even people we run into who don’t have dogs with them, have all seemed like true dog lovers and are excited to see our dog! There are larger open areas people use for cross country skiing and a sledding hill for kids in the winter. The Meadow loop gives you the option of a nice, easy stroll with your pup off-leash, then you can head up into the trails (We have found that the East/West loops are easier and the North/South loops are generally steeper and more challenging). We enjoy that the trails are on-leash areas, we often have issues with off-leash dogs running up on our deaf dog who has to be leashed (he is easily startled and disoriented, and can’t hear us call him). All in all, Mills Riverside Park is great, we can guarantee that both ourselves and our dog will be tuckered out!

    Awesome dog park!

We are traveling with our dogs while on vacation. We found this awesome dog park near Burlington. When you arrive at the park, cross the covered bridge, and follow the trail to the left. Walk with your dogs on the path and on leash for about 5-10 minutes until you reach the off leash area. In the off leash area, dogs are well protected by natural barriers (there are no fences). There is a creek nearby for the dogs to get wet and swim. Our dogs were in heaven!! All of the dogs and people we met were friendly.

    Nice Area for Walking

This is a very nice park to walk in--the trails are well maintained and clearly marked (although very muddy after a rain). People seemed to follow the rules about where it was acceptable to have dogs off leash and didn't allow dogs to run off-leash in the on-leash areas. There was also a dog station with bags and a trash can near the entrance to the park and more trashcans in the parking lot.
