The Yards Park

Experience The Yards Park with Fido, a dog-friendly waterfront destination in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Located in Washington, DC, just south of Capitol Hill and to the east of Nationals Ballpark, this thoughtfully-designed park is a place to be active or relax and enjoy the outdoors. Dogs are permitted to be off-leash in the fenced Dog Run, just east of the Great Lawn, but must be leashed when exploring the rest of the park. This scenic park features open grassy areas and well-landscaped outdoor rooms, a waterfall, an elevated overlook, iconic bridge, light sculpture, and a riverfront boardwalk. Visit Website

Needs Some Work But Good
A little difficult to find. It’s next to the brick building hidden by bushes. It is enclosed & a good size. Not too crowded. The ground seems unfinished.

Adequate
There is a small fenced in, off leash area next to the open lawn. Hard to find if you don't know it's there. The park is small, all gravel, has a few benches and a doggie clean up station.

just a park
This is a nice park and it's dog friendly - but it's not a dog park. There's no off leash area and none of it is fenced in - so it's good if you just want to take your dog for a walk around the block a few times but that's about it.
