    Just a Park

Not much of a beach, more like access area to the water. Dogs were off leash. If you’re looking for a true sandy beach, visit Pensacola which has two dog beaches on Ft Pickens Road or the dog beach in Panama City Beach across from Pier Park. They were both the dog beach experience we were looking for while on vacation with our pups!

    Close to Destin

We had fun here. This is closer to Destin than Panama's Dog Beach, which is larger. However, this is quick trip over to allow you furry friend to cool down and have some fun.

    Great Park and Beach Access

Shallow beach area that our Doberman loved! We started every morning there during our stay in FWB. There’s a dog wash between the enclosed dog park and the parking lot to get all the sand off your pooch as well. Great little spot to get the zoomies out after breakfast.

Good Spot w a little beach area

we couldn’t find any dog friendly beaches in the Fort Walton area. This was the only spot that allowed our dogs to play in the water. it’s a small beach area but there are other enclosed areas for off leash play.

    Nice park with beach

in front of the park has an area of beach that the dog can play ,the small park looks in a better condition than the big .At the big park some areas of the fence need to be fixed.

    Only Option

Took our dog here on an overnight trip because it was the only “beach” where she could swim. Park was a little run down. We kept our dog on her leash but the others that were there were not. Also, the dogs that were unleashed were all in tact males. Not to mention our dog picked up fleas at the park after only being there maybe an hour (yes, our dog is on flea prevention). It’s too bad Ft Walton doesn’t have another dog park option.

    My pup loved it here!!!!

This park was huge, and the dog park was fenced in. Dog Park has ample space for dogs to run around in. I also took mine out to the beach area—-there are benches, and my dog had fun running in the water. The water was shallow, and I enjoyed the lovely white sands. Beautiful park and overall scenery. Very clean!!!! I saw no homeless people—-according to some of the reviews on here. I’m glad I went and met some friendly folks. I was passing through. I’ll definitely come back! The dog house was cute too—provided lots of shade.

    Best Dog Park Ever

I spent 2 of my vacation days at this park. It sports 2 fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, a beach area with shallow water that was perfect for my Cavapoo, restrooms nearby, and an area to hose off your furry friend before getting into the car. The second day I brought my own lunch since there are no cafes in walking distance.

    Dog Beach!

This is one of the only parks around this area that allows your dogs to be off leash at the beach. There is not a fence around the dog beach so you may want to keep your dog on a leash if you cannot trust them. There is also a big dog and small dog fenced in dog park area. There a plenty of water stations and even a wash station with a hose to help wash off all the sand out of your dogs fur! This is also a great place to walk your dog with plenty of sidewalks that surround the park.

Great Park!! Needs fence for beach

This is an awesome park. I took both of my dogs here today and it was really nice. There is plenty of water and poo bags in their gated dog park. The people and dogs there are super friendly.. My only "complaint" (or suggestion) would be that YES there is a beach for the dogs WHICH IS GREAT but it needs a fence around it. There were plenty of owners with their dogs swimming off the leash but I didn't feel comfortable doing that with my dogs. Overall, I will definitely be coming back here and I really enjoyed this park!

    Good Dog Park

There are plenty of poo bag stations, dog water fountains, and fenced in areas. There are multiple isolated fenced in areas so if your dog doesn’t like socializing you can go to an empty one. If your dog likes socializing or needs more dog-dog interaction there’s a group of people that meet there every Friday at 5pm to socialize their dogs. The beach area is cool but my dog had stitches that were healing so we didn’t go in.

    Dog Beach!!

We found this dog park with a dog beach because they were supposed to have a Dog Days event, which was canceled due to weather, but there were still lots of dogs for our puppy to play, run, and swim with. We'll be back!

Only place for a dog to get to the beach

The park was a bit small and as others mentioned there's a lot of sand in the large dog area that would be pretty muddy if it had rained. We did find the small Beach area which was just big enough for my dog to play in. There were two other dogs there at the time, both Unleashed at the small Beach area. They were friendly, but the one just kept pulling my dog's leash.
There is a lot of trash from the homeless people that you have to watch out for, and of course, the homeless people at the Pavilion. I was okay out there with my husband, but I wouldn't want to be alone. Everyone we met was nice, including the homeless, but it just made me a bit nervous.
We didn't find the dog wash station, but now that I've read the info again I know where it is. The trip was about 2 hours for us to get to the dog park, we wanted to visit our favorite restaurant. It's sad that as big as Florida is and as many beaches that it has, that there's only this one area up along the north end of the gulf for dogs to play. Unfortunately, my dog was too tired out from her first long trip and the play in the water to really play with any other dogs in the park, but I think she had a good time. I'd go back there again if I'm in the area.

    Dog Beach

There is a small but nice dog beach on the Santa Rosa sound at Liza Jackson Park. It included a picnic table along with a bench next to the beach. There was also a small pavilion nearby. The water and beach area were clean. The water was shallow and had no shells to injure the feet of the dogs. A small wash station was located along a concrete sidewalk path back to the parking lot. The fenced dog parks looked small and muddy due to recent rains (poor drainage resulted in mud puddles).

    Do something More...

I control my dogs at all time on a leash. I tend to take them to swim early in the mornings to avoid other dogs. It’s uncomfortable when having to walk thru the trash and the sleeping homeless people in the pavilions. I love the dog wash off station. I walk my dogs around the park side to dry off and it’s been more than once, I walk back to my car when homeless individuals have their dogs unleashed...causing a little chaos trying to get back to the car. For the most part it’s not a bad place, just don’t understand why others don’t clean up behind their pet when poop bags are supplied.... A lot of homeless people here that ignore rules and don’t care. Makes it very uncomfortable for this water accessible dog park.

    Not great!

The dog park itself was not much to look at. Pretty small. However, just beyond the park is an area that dogs can swim. My dog loved it. The area surrounding the park was quite dirty.

    Really Good!

This is a good park if you can follow the rules. Big dogs in the big dog park and small dogs in the small park. This is a great park to get your animals out and socialize them as they can play with other dogs! Just remember to follow the rules so your dog doesn't get hurt! :)
