For the last couple of years, I would have said no way, "No way is anyone safe at pioneer park." They've done a lot for the area! New lights, walkways, trash bins and parking. Give it another try if you happen to be in the downtown area

I watched no less than 10 drug deals go down in the very short time I was there, all right out in the open while I played fetch with my dog, then saw two sketchy looking guys walk up to my van and start peering in the windows and trying door handles. This was at 2 in the afternoon.

This part is very close to the hotel I stayed at (Crystal Inn, dog friendly), and it was an unexpected surprise to find it here. Very cold day, but it was just big enough for some running and ball chasing. Lots of homeless around. Park was reasonably clean with bark surface. Not sure how it would be in the summer, might get muddy if not maintained.

The park itself is nice looking enough but, like the user below said... We witnessed some drug deals, fist fights and general sketchy homeless activity. The dog park portion is TINY and has absolutely no obstacles or anything.... It's maybe half the size of a soccer field that's just filled wood chips surrounded by a 3ft fence. I was extremely underwhelmed and so was my dog.

I'm visiting from out of state and was hoping my dog could get some much needed playtime in between my conference attendance. It's very close to downtown, however I witnessed her ion shoot ups, pot smoking, and wandering homeless people the entire time. And no other dogs. But the park itself was nice so "better than nothing"

The off leash section is pretty nice, but the park in general is kind of sketchy. Small dogs can also get through the fence.

This park is cute, fenced, has poop bags, water (when the pipes aren't frozen in the winter) and is right in downtown but is just lacking dogs. My puppy girls love playing here but we've yet to meet another dog here.
