    Nice park - nice people

dropped in on our way to/from DC from Toronto. nice clean park with responsible and friendly local owners. the Fairgrounds are a group of large sports fields with a fitness track so you can also walk your pooch (on leash) for a good leg stretch if required.

    Love This Park!!

My dog and I go here almost everyday. I have never seen or heard of any man named Pat that I read about in other reviews. it is now 2020. This must have been a long time ago. Please don’t let this now discourage you from coming and bringing your dog to this beautiful Park! It’s fun for Dog Parents and their Pups! very Clean and Safe!!

Basic, clean, just what we needed

This is a smallish fended park with a side for small dogs and one for large dogs. It rained hard earlier but was grassy and not muddy. There is a human shelter but not much shade. Also, our dog loves to run through wooded areas, but this is open with trees near the fences, nothing woodsy. Still, we were away from home, it was easy to find, good parking because it’s part of a big red area with ball fields and basketball courts. Clean, no issues. There is a water fountain inside if you want to fill a bowl.

    Fun for pups

We visited with Lab and lab mix and they both had a good time interacting with several local dogs. The people and dogs present were all friendly. There were trees and a pavilion for shade. There were bags, trash cans, and water available inside the fences. We appreciate this wonderful facility.

    Love the park

I have ran into the same man. He acts as though he runs the park as well as giving his advise on how you should raise your dog. I have not been to the park all winter and now that spring is coming my GSD wants to go so bad. I started avoiding it because of this guy and him acting like the park police. It is good to know he is not!
And I live across the street from the park!

    Dog Park Enthusiast

We love and frequent the dog park. I totally agree about this man named Pat. I have had a run in with him just outside the dog park and I actually had to leave because of his arrogance. I have had conversations with other dog park users and they have complained about Pat and his pack of dogs as well. I actually will go out of my way to avoid being at the park at the same time as Pat. When I see his vehicle parked outside the dog park I will keep driving and come back another time.

    Concerned Taxpayer

The park is wonderful for dogs, but not so much for humans. This is solely due to a man named Pat, who seems to believe is the Hagerstown Dog Whisperer, who not only administers the park, but all those who might enjoy it. Further, he apparently is above the law. He leaves his dogs, unattended, in the large dog park while he lectures in the small dog park, which is against the stated rules. Further, he walks his four small dogs off leash. Am I wrong, or is the law clear that ALL dogs must be leashed? Beware, folks, this man admonished me to leave the park when my dog barked and snipped at another dog in the park, who happened to be one she lived with, saying my Abby was aggressive when she was simply displaying dogville behavior. Apparently, I did not rise to his standard of dog park clientele. It is always dangerous when someone thinks they are above and beyond the rules EVERYONE is supposed to follow.

    Mom of 2 dogs

I love the fact that they have the park sectioned off for small and large dogs. Both my dogs are small and its great for them to play with dogs there own size. They could put in some more trees. But other than that it's great.
