Spectacular views with information postings for humans throughout the walk.
The hike was not super strenuous and it was a short trail - however the initial steps to get to the top were a little steep

Yeah, many state parks in Az. seem to be a little dicey in regards to dogs. But if you head up the Catalina Hwy. there are plenty of trails that welcome dogs. The rule is keep 'em on a leash. This website may have gotten confused about State vs. Federal?

There are not a lot of hiking trails at Catalina Park that dogs can go on, on sutherland there is a sign and if you pass it with your dog you may get fined.

The Sutherland Trail has always been a great hiking trail for dogs, but due to the introduction of bighorn sheep, it has been closed beyond about 1.5 miles from the trailhead. The state park personnel give conflicting advice on hiking-- one person said just stay on the trail, another said that it's closed during the spring months, and the website says something entirely different.
