Mason Neck Park

Nice park with wooded trails and bay views. Took the pup swimming here in the calm bay water with a nice sand/mud beach. Pets must remain on leashes and of course clean up after them. Watch out for wildlife- we passed a big snake on the trail. But not very crowded so a nice place to walk with the pup. Visit Website

    Beautiful in winter!

This is a great place to go in winter when everything is frozen over. Dogs have to be leashed, but they have so much fun on the trails and down by the water, that they don't even notice. Take your camera!

    Quiet, peaceful park

Less crowded than other parks in the area, Mason Neck State Park offers a variety of scenery including river shore, marshes, and wooded trails. My pup loved playing on the beach, and was surprised when she heard frogs among the lily pads. Even though we visited on a holiday weekend, once we stepped away from the picnic area/water, we passed only one person on the trails.
