  Great trail

  Although your Fido must be on leash, many people disregard this rule, so if you have a reactive dog, you may want to be on alert. The trail itself is beautiful, and if you're inclined, you can hike 42 km between Botanical Beach and China Beach, most of it shoreside (some parts of the trail are moderate-to-difficult), camping along the way in well-maintained tent sites and beaches. Botanical Beach is closer to Port Renfrew than to Sooke, and I believe there is also pet-friendly accomodation in Port Renfrew. The trails at Botanical Beach are rated as "easy". Please do not put your hands, feet, or paws into the tidal pools as they are now protected. Lots of neat sea creatures to see, including anemones, urchins, sculpins, eagles, otters, seals & sea lions, and possibly even whales passing by.
