    Beautiful park, dog friendly

Very dog friendly, they’ll even give your dog a “bark ranger” badge for good behavior!

Great get away for not so social pups!

We are staying in Long Beach West. Needless to say, no shortage of dogs here even though its not quite busy season. I was looking to find a place where my pups wouldn't be over stimulated. This place checked all the boxes for them and myself. As far as I can tell no ticks on my pups. Just keep them out of the tall grass, the trails are definitely big enough. Though I have back issues, I was able to walk my 2 large dogs through the the hiking trail and around The Roosevelt's home. Hiking trails are shady and the beach is absolutely stunning. Staff on the grounds were nice and helpful. Super happy to have found a place both my pups and I could enjoy together.

Great location for a nice long walk!

they are ticks, but my dog didn’t get any because I used the wondercide spray. it’s a nice long walk to the beach and seeing the history.

    Beautiful Spot But Ticks Everywhere

this is a beautiful spot. the trails are great. it’s nice to walk up to the water. the main issue is there are a ton of ticks. the last time I went a dog was covered in the because he had walked off the trail. I couldn’t get out of there quick enough!

    Fantastic Trail!

Even during the pandemic, the trail was open and fantastic for my dog to sniff and run with me on leash. Long trails all around the grounds.

Great Place For A Gentle Paced Hike

Even on a weekend it wasn’t too crowded, and we found the area perfect for a short hike with our pooch. The path itself has some inclines but nearly everyone was in running shoes. No trash cans or bathrooms once you hit the nature trail, so do your business at the visitors center first!

    Great place

I have read Maria's review and decided to try this place. It is absolutely gorgeous historical place not only for 4 legged friends but their owners too. Nature is breath taken and it is an easy walk. My whole family enjoyed our hike. This place is now on my favorite list to come. Looking forward to see foliage this year.
