If you're traveling and looking to let your dogs get some exercise, forget this place. It's 5 miles off the freeway, couldn't find the dog park until we asked someone, and then it was locked up. It's very small, not worth bothering with.
- DDec 31, 2022Great park…terrible neighbor and dog park
found this on a road trip, searching places along the way to let the dogs out to run around. the only reason for 2 bones is that the park itself was very spacious and deserted, a sports field to the left gave us room to throw the ball for the dogs for 10 mins. My dogs have good recall, didn’t bark and we were the only ones there aside from a dude on the other side of the park playing frisbee golf. As I’m walking back to the car, which was on (because my mom who was driving with me was in it), this lady who lives across from the park opens her door and begins yelling over to me that a tail light is out. I thanked her and looked and it wasn’t out. Weird. so she keeps yelling weird stuff and I say nothing- my mom and I are kind of like quietly talking to each other saying let’s get out of here- the lady starts screaming obscenities about my dogs and towards me. I stopped putting our bowl, ball and my purse inside and turned and asked if she wanted me to call the cops. she closed her door and didnt say anything else. We gtfo of there. creepy.

We found this park on a long trip. it was clean, with plenty of shade and places to sit. The only reason it didn’t get five bones is due to the lack of any water. Would definitely stop there again!

After hearing many bad reviews through the local grapevine, we had avoided visiting. But we tried it today, and I'm pleased to report that this place has been cleaned up! No broken glass or trash at all in the large dog area.
There's only one "ramp", so it would be nice to see more interactive structures, but overall, a nice place to let our dogs run off some energy.
Definitely bring water, as there is not a water pump. No food allowed at all, so leave the treats in your vehicle for after your visit. - MarkApr 6, 2021Nice Park
I grew up in Herrin, but have lived away for most of my life. When we returned last year, we took advantage of the park for our dog to go off leash some place other than my mother's back yard. It was clean and a great place for her to chase squirrels. This year we will be return again, but with two dogs. I will past again, once we have that experience.
- CassiMay 26, 2020Ehhhh
It’s convenient, however the park is on the smaller side, and I have picked up more glass than I would like. It seems like someone broke a cup or something, and then never cleaned it up and so the pieces have spread. Also, bring your own water.
- LorenaMore than a year agoGreat Park!
This is a great place to let your dogs run and play. Take water, though.
