- KateDec 29, 2021Excellent in December
Kaya (lab mix, 40lbs, 6yo) and Addie (Min. Pin. mix, 12lbs, 12yo) loved walking the beach and cooling their paws in the surf. Pets allowed year round, but only during the day in the winter months.

This was wonderful once we figured out what times dogs were allowed on the beach. Had a blast!
- TrishaMay 25, 2019Great time for dogs at Coligny
We had two great visits with dogs at Coligny Beach, one after 5 pm and one 7-9 am. Free parking, beautiful beach, two areas to rinse off, spots to sit in shade, and restrooms. A little bit of a walk from parking area but very well planned and convenient. We have two small dogs who love to swim and play, and the waves were perfect for them. We are always very cautious about other dogs, especially big dogs whose owners don’t control them, because that can turn a great beach visit into a horrible one. This beach is wide open where you can create some space for yourself and feel safe as long as you keep an eye out. Early morning is the least crowded. I am very glad that they do restrict dogs to before 10 and after 5. It is way too hot for them during the heat of the day. Our dogs absolutely loved this beach. Also it is very scenic and I loved seeing the pelicans. When we were there in the evening we also walked around the shops and they were dog friendly. Don’t forget to bring lots of fresh water for your dogs. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
- MistyJul 20, 2018Easy access!
My GPS got us right to Fish Haul. At first I thought we were driving where we shouldn't be as the road seems secluded and is narrow. They have a blue runner laid out for you and your dog to make an entrance. I was told to be careful over near the cove...that sharks go in there...so we avoided that. It was my German Shepherd's first trip to the beach, and he loved it!!! So cute to see him take a few steps then pick his paws up high... Then he got used to it. Nice beach!
- BëngtaMore than a year agoaddress error
We tried to use the address above to bring our dogs to the beach and it’s a RESORT- not public beach access.
So be careful when you’re looking up where to go exactly.
Ended up back tracking a lot due to the address error. - KimberlyFeb 19, 2018Beautiful Beaches!
Just spent the day at Coligny Beach, the dogs loved every second of it! Lots of other dogs around too. Will definitely be back.

We have had great experiences with all the beaches in Hilton head with our dog. Off season dogs are welcome any time.
- SissyMore than a year agoOff peak!
Coligny Beach is phenomenal, off peak!! You can bring dogs Labor day thru Memorial Day, any time.
During the peak season, dogs are welcome before 10am and after 5pm. Please pick up after your dogs, this beach is beautiful! - AlyssaMore than a year agoMy dog loved it
This was our first time here and our overall experience was great! We went during "off season" so it was not over populated. My dog had a lot of fun running around with no leash. The town is very dog friendly as well. A+ and a great place for your pups.
