The Grotto

A sixty-two acre Catholic shrine and botanical garden, the Grotto is an oasis of serenity and green space just moments from downtown Portland. Leashed pets are allowed on the premises. Every year, on the third Sunday of July, the Grotto offers the Blessing of the Animals. This event draws a variety of creatures, ranging from snakes to furry four-legged friends. Visit Website

    Only part open to dogs

The Grotto is beautiful, lush and well taken care of. Worth a visit. However, it’s split into an upper and lower parts and leashed dogs are only allowed in the lower part, which isn’t that extensive. Too bad as the upper is beautiful.
