Perfect dog beach! Super clean, tons of room, some shallow areas. Some grassy areas for them to sniff and pee. Not a far walk at all from parking to the water. We will definitely be coming back here!

The perfect weather left me a little biased, but there was room for all on the beach, the water was clear and the wind was perfect. The walk to the sand was not much at all, unless you wanted to be way down the shore. I even carried a propane grill to the water. Parking was $25 for a 7 day Sleeping Bear Dunes Parking Pass.

We saw that this was a dog friendly beach via Bring Fido, so we decided to try it out. Other beaches in the Traverse City area did not allow dogs near the beach area or in the water. But Good Harbor Bay Beach was such a treat. Beautiful drive there, easy to park and find a spot on the beach. Super clean beach and crystal clear water. Our puggle loved the water and had a blast being there. We kept him on the leash but at one point, he was just able to sit with us and run around the beach area. I highly recommend this beach area for dog lovers and the family.

We brought our dog here after reading other reviews of this dog friendly beach. We absolutely loved it! It is extremely dog friendly. Our pup loved playing in the sand and swimming his little heart out! FYI: there are not shower or changing facilities at this beach access. There is a big porta-potty big enough to change in and a little shower for feet.

Just spent 6 days camping at Lake Leelanau, 15 minutes from Good Harbor. This beach is among the prettiest I have been to in my life. Gorgeous greens and blues. Saw a bald eagle and my dog LOVED it. The beach is shrinking due to erosion and the high lake level but that didn't stop us. Many dogs here and while on leash is the rule you have secluded beach in many areas with room to run. No bugs, my dog after 3 days swimming is cleaner with a nicer coat than compared to any time I get him from the groomer. Go here with your dog.
