Obviously being in the outdoors there are going to be ticks. Please, please, please, if you are going to bring your dog make sure they have taken a flea and tick preventative. I have never in my life seen this many ticks. We were walking for 5 minutes when I decided to turn back after pulling 12 ticks off my 13 pound dog. We hadn’t even made it to the wooded area yet. I immediately took her to get a tick medication, and she still has ticks falling off her and even some fleas. I have taken my dogs to many outdoor areas and this has never happened. Do not go here with your dog if they do not have their tick, flea, and heart-worm prevention for the sake of your dog, and for the health of yourself, wear long sleeves and pants.

While this is a small national park, it's definitely worth visiting. Lots of good trails and very diverse views from Brandywine Falls to the Ledges to the Beaver Marsh! Our handicapable pupper enjoyed the little walk to the Beaver Marsh but otherwise was carried for all the other trails.
