    Best Day Ever!!!

This was my dogs first trip to the ocean. Hatteras National Seashore was perfect. I kept him on long lead for safety while he played in the surf. We were there in the off season & it was fantastic if just a wee bit chilly. Be sure to practice leave no trace!!! No dog waste, but picked up a few discarded surgical masks. 😖

    Nice beach

A dog friendly beach! Most areas you need to keep them on a 6 foot leash. We went to the beach access across from the Graveyard of the Atlantic museum while my husband toured the inside. Dogs are not allowed in the museum. Great place to find shells. Watch out for sand burs! Lots in the grassy areas. There was no leash length limit on the info board where we were (and it was off season).
