- JamieJul 4, 20235 bones for this trail!
We went on a 4th of July mid-morning. There was only one other person on the trail with their dog so it ended up being a nice quiet walk on lovely shaded trails which was nice since it was already hot. We encountered a large gopher turtle and lots of pretty butterflies. We went across A1A to the beach which was a nice end to the trail. We opted to stay on the main trails as noted by others as the smaller trails aren’t well-kept and a bit muddy. It was nice that there is plenty of parking, water fountains to refill water and restrooms. They even offer dog bags to pick up after your pets (please do this to keep the trail nice for everyone!) All in all, def a great trail to bring your pup on!
- JohnFeb 26, 2023Great walk but smaller trails maintained
We had a fun time exploring the preserve and met some other dogs along the way. The main trail is well traveled however the smaller ones are not well maintained and were a bit be muddy and confusing to find.
- ANJANETTEMar 13, 2022Great trails.
Nice trails, multiple smaller trails that loop back to main trail, a little sun, a lot of shade, we didn't see any alligators but did see a crane. You have to cross A1A without a crosswalk to continue to the ocean.
- RonaldMar 15, 2021Nice visit
I live in Melbourne, and my sister lives in Vero, so we decided to meet with our dogs midway. OK, close to midway. We had a very pleasant walk here. The dogs really enjoyed it. Nice trails, but I can see it would be a mess if there had been a recent rainfall. But, without any recent rain, it was very nice. Shaded so it wasn't too hot. Finished up driving to Sebastian to eat a nice late lunch at dog-friendly Sebastian Train Depot.
- KimJan 26, 2021Great Walking Trail!
This trail is gorgeous and shaded, lush with palms and ferns. Both our dogs and we enjoyed it immensely. There is a parking area with restrooms. The most immediate trail ends at a divided highway. We turned around there, but according to a map I saw later, we could have crossed the road and kept going. The walk we did (about 1.5 miles roundtrip) tired out the dogs, and it was plenty. Highly recommend!
- AlexDec 15, 2020Nice Little Nature trail.
Nice little nature trail to take out the dogs. Saw a few turtles and that's about it. It was a bit soggy but manageable.
