First of all, not easy to find. It’s near the ConocoPhillips gas station and can see the marina. Parking there. GPS took us on a scenic route. Lol. Walking directions said we had arrived but no! Keep walking through the arched tunnel and it will be on the left. There is so real
Beach with sand and no grass like a park. It’s an area to let your dog off leash while listening to traffic fly by on the bridge. As big as this lake is, I think there has to be a better location. FYI if your dog does not follow commands I would be afraid to off leash, as a dog could run up on 95 and get hit by a vehicle. - LeahAug 14, 2021Nice dog beach
There is a small public parking area with restrooms and informational signs next to the Conoco gas station. From there you can follow the paved path about a half-ish mile along the highway to the beach. The beach itself is partially shaded with large trees and has some benches and picnic tables along with pick up bags and trash cans. There is a mix of sandy areas and rocks. The beach is located between the highway and the train tracks so the atmosphere is not the best or quietest but it is overall a nice place to swim with your dog. We swam down here for about an hour on a summer afternoon and were the only ones here.

the only downfall is the walk is long in asphalt for the dogs. I wish it was gravel or the sides with grass were accessible all the way down because of the heat

Previous reviews helped to find this hidden gem. Lots of room for my larger dog to romp. Thanks “bring Fido” for letting us know about this beach!
- SunnyAug 31, 2018Nice little beach
This is a nice little beach but not a lot of room for dogs to get away from each other. We really loved it though!
- MarjorieJul 15, 2018Great Spot for fur babies!
The spot is perfect for a swim day with your fur babies. BUT, it’s not close to parking so be prepared to walk. I couldn’t exactly mesure it when we went, but it felt like 1/2 a mile or so from where you park. The directions there are not entirely clear to people who are not from Sandpoint. Here’s the address to the Conoco gas station mentioned. 209 E Superior St, Sandpoint, ID 83864. Be weary on the time of day you go because even though the area is perfect, if there’s more than 3 or 4 dogs around, it feels a little crowded. Make sure your dogs are trained to voice commands because it’s not fenced and the beach is right off a biking/hiking trail where there are a lot of people passing by. Other than that, we loved our time there and we know our fur babies did too!! I’m sure that we will return!!

We wish we had paid better attention to directions! This awesome soft sanded beach near the Pedestrian Long Bridge was a perfect getaway! The water was clear. It was difficult to pull Sadie away. While we were there, only one other person with dogs showed up!
- StephanieMore than a year agobeautiful little beach
Atlas and I went exploring to find a place to play with my other dog and my moms dog. This time around it was just Atlas with me, but we found a place to play!! It's an off leash kind of secluded little beach that even you can go for a swim in with your pup. It's a bit of a walk from the Conaco gas station but in my opinion well worth it!!
