  Trolley Tour

  We took the trolley tour through Portland with our dog Tucker . I would recommend this tour if you are traveling with your pet . They are very dog friendly even announcing it when you walk by there booths with a dog .

  Great Combo Tours!

  Took the peek at Portland trolley tour and Lighthouse lovers tour and both were great with awesome tour guides. More than dog friendly, dog lovers! Made sure to not only ask her name but checked in during both tours on how she was doing! 🐾

  Great way to explore the city

  We did the land and sea combo...both were super accommodating to my pup....not just tolerate her they actually welcomed her and loved on her! She hung her head out of the window on the trolley and napped on the cruise! She was a little leery walking on the gangway but once we were seated she was great. The top deck was hot for her paws until we got underway and the breeze started blowing.

  Great tours and they love dogs!

  Took both a land discovery and lighthouse cruise. Guides were great as everyone appreciated having dogs along.

  Touring Made Easy

  On 10/13/19 Columbus Day Weekend I took my dog to Portland for a Pet Friendly Adventure. One of our adventures was this fabulous Trolly Tour. My dog is a 20lb Boston Terrier and I travel to many places with her. We took this tour and it was beyond accommodating to dogs. My dog sat on my lap and we enjoyed the tour through Portland and So, Portland. We then had a 30 minute stop at Ft. Williams where we were able to get out and walk. Perfect for the dogs to stretch, have a snack and a piddle break. Our tour guide was a local who grew up in Portland and is also a school bus driver. She was very informative with the history and with the " only the locals would know info"

  A Great Way to Tour the City and the Bay !

  We were very impressed with the offerings of Discovery. We chose a combo pack - a trolley ride of the city and a cruise of various lighthouses in the bay. Dogs are free! Prices are reasonable. The guide on the trolley ride was excellent. We learned so much about the history of Portland. Our dogs are big (>100 lbs each) and had their own seat on the trolley or sat on the floor. People on the tour were very gracious. The cruise was very interesting as we wanted to sit upstairs. It is more of a ladder than stairs to climb to get to the upper deck. One of our dogs climbed without a problem. However, our male was not too sure and really needed a lot of encouragement. Again the educational aspect of the cruise was great. Definitely recommend. And by the way, both dogs were able to go down the stairs without any problem.

  Cruising with the Dog

  Even though our Berner is 9, this was his first time on a boat. But it went great, and the crew couldn’t have been nicer. There are gangplanks and stairs... just be aware, it’s a boat. You can sit outdoors in the breeze or indoors in the A/C if the sun is too hot for your furry friend. Bring a bowl for water... the best we could do was a plastic cup. Definitely recommended.

  Trolley Tour

  We had a great time on the trolley tour. Our dog Bella loved it. Steve was great and very knowledgeable.

  Lovely staff and fun

  Our dog had never been on a boat other than the Casco Bay ferry and other than some initial nerves she fell right to sleep. She was allowed on at no extra charge, there were spaces both inside and out on the deck for her to lay down so plenty of shady spots, and the staff was kind and welcoming to her.

  Great tour

  We visited last weekend with our Bernese Mountain Dog and loved this tour! We were welcomed on board with our dog, and the crew was very friendly and stopped to pet her and give her treats. She was so tired from her day in Portland that she slept most of the tour. She loved the sea breeze and watching the waves go by from the boat. What a great tour! We would definitely recommend this to others with dogs.

  Wonderful Dog Friendly Harbor Tour

  My pups were welcomed on all bus and boat tours at no additional cost. The staff were great to my dogs and there was plenty of space for them to relax. We did a 4:30 cruise which was less crowded than some others, so that helped. The dogs did great and I really enjoyed it. Most of the tour was flat water (good weather day... one portion was more open water for about 10 minutes out of the 90 minute tour), but may not be ideal for medium or large dogs (dogs larger than what you'd hold in your lap) if they've never been on a boat before. My dogs had been on ferries and boats before, so this wasn't anything out of the ordinary for them... but it could be uncomfortable for unproven pups (thus I gave it a four instead of five bones). Overall, wonderful trip and so glad we went and so grateful the dogs were allowed so we could do it! Great tour of the area and harbor with great photo ops including of local wildlife (e.g., seals, osprey).
