Unfortunately, Florida State parks do not allow dogs (even leashed) on their beaches

There were literal swarms of mosquitoes. Not even bug spray helped. Left pretty quickly because both us and the pups were getting chewed up.

the park is big, has a lot of camping sites and seem to have a large beach but you can go with your dog. we walked the nature trail that was gorgeous and very pleasant. we only wish we could of been allowed on the beach but we already knew we couldnt. although we did see some people sneaking their dog through and go on the beach in a hidden area.

I'm not sure why dogs are allowed on all beaches - except at the state parks. But at least they are allowed on trails, which is not allowed everywhere. We tether our dogs at our campsite on leads longer than 6 feet and no one complained, although I suppose if our dogs had caused a problem the rangers would have said something.

We came with our puppy to Anastasia State Park and did not have a good experience. We wanted to take our puppy to the beach, but dogs are not allowed on the beach there. We were not informed of this until after paying the $8 entrance fee, though we told the park official before paying we wanted to take our dog to the beach. Also, the only dog friendly area for picnicing had a homeless person asleep in a sleeping bag in the picnic area, so there was nowhere to go. In addition, there is a back gate where locals were breaking in to ride their bikes for free. I visited this park all the time in the 70s and it was great, but it has gone downhill from then. I do not recommend to bring your family and dog here.

You might be able to go on the few hiking trails with your dog. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, so you need to find another beach. The beach is beautiful, but dogs are not welcomed.

We camped twice at this park and always brought our dog with us. Nice facilities and friendly people. Our dog enjoyed the hikes in the park. I wouldn't recommend it during summer. Temperatures are high and Fido can not be left unattended...so no beach for you :-(
