This dog park has rave reviews and i’m slightly confused considering it is just a fenced-in yard. This park was closed for a while because the water had mange. It is spacious, but has limited seating for owners, no agility course, and it’s poorly managed (they allow dogs that have a history of attacking others) in this park. My german shepherd was attacked as a younger dog here by a blue heeler. I had to reach down and pry the dog’s teeth off of her throat and still have the scar on my hand to prove it. There was blood, my dog was screaming, my boyfriend had to hold her above his head to keep the dog from biting her feet and legs, and the owner did nothing (didn’t even leash her dog or come and get it). So much for socializing our sweet girl. We have not been back since.

This is our favorite park ever and we’ve been to many dog parks all across the US. We go here all the time! Every single weekend! We all have so much fun! One of our dogs LOVES THE POND!! Dog owners are friendly! Very well behaved dogs! It’s always very very busy! Everyone loves it! Lots of dogs! There’s a small dog area and large dog area but everyone just goes in the large dog area pretty much. Good place to get your dogs more used to being around other dogs. Beautiful park! Such a blessing to the community!
P.S.-When you go to dog parks, always remember to pick up their poop. (: - BeckyFeb 17, 2019Pretty Good
This is a decent park. I can only speak to the big dog side. It’s big, but most of the space is taken up by two ponds. When it’s warm and if your dog is into water, it would be great. There’s a sign telling you that toys aren’t allowed. I had never seen that before—maybe there’s been trouble there before. My dog is mostly focused on chasing balls and not on other dogs, so it’s not ideal for us.

We spent our first anniversary in Shreveport with our two 15 pound dogs. We have been very excited about this trip because there are so many dog friendly places in Shreveport as compared to the small town in which we live. The park has two sides: one for big dogs and one for small. The small dog park was only grass, whereas the big dog park had a huge body of water to play in. It would be nice if there was even a little toddler pool or something in the small one, but there wasn’t. The water fountain on the small dog side was broken so we couldn’t get water for our pups or ourselves. Worst of all, there were stickers/burs in grass with extremely long, pointed stems. Within ten minutes of being there, one of my dogs got four burs and two individual stems stuck in her paws. It was awful. She was screaming and crying. We will never come back to this park. Please be extremely careful with your little ones. I would suggest putting little shoes on them so they don’t get needles stuck deep inside their paws like our poor little girl did.
- TiffanyMore than a year agoawesome park!
The pin on the map is wrong and the park is at the end of the road at the water. This is one of the best dog parks that we’ve been to!
