  No bones about it, this place is no good. Dogs are not allowed at the main beach.

  Lots of dead fish & grass

  the dog walk area of the park is still there, however, it’s not in the part of the park with the formal entrance at the swim beach for humans. It is directly across the street from the restaurant Playa tacos & tequila which incidentally allows dogs on their patio. It’s a small stretch of beach that is for all appearances left to nature. we found lots of dead fish carcasses and tall grass & wildflowers.

  Beautiful But...

  The Holland State Park is beautiful. The Michigan shoreline is gorgeous. The sandy beach looked nice, but since I had my dogs with me we couldn't set foot on to the sand.

  All that beach, and they didn't even designate one tiny section for dogs. I'll never understand why not.

  I'm sure the trails are beautiful but we moved on to find a dog friendly beach. I have a senior dog who overheats in the sun, so finding a place to swim and cool off is a necessity for us.

  Beautiful but no pets allowed on the beach

  signage is posted everywhere that there are no pets allowed. wandered around and found a map and had nothing listed for a pet beach.

  Breathtaking in winter

  So we went hunting for the Holland Historic Lighthouse in January. A little tricky to walk but it was just beautiful. Our dogs loved walking on the beach. It was hard to get them to stand still for photos. We always keep them on leashes and pick up after them.

  Not dog friendly

  not what it’s supposed to be. Dogs not welcome near the water. jetty closed. Boardwalk ok but we took our pup because she swims. No Pets signs everywhere.

  Beautiful

  Great place we walked out to one of the outer light towers with our pup and sat for a while. The beach was very nice!

  Very High Water

  We still had a nice day despite the very high water. Part of the boardwalk is underwater. We still walked out on the pier. It is very narrow for a good portion of the walk but our dog managed just fine.

  Great Beach Walk!

  We took our pups to the boardwalk for the sunset. It was so fun to walk alongside the channel and to have our furry friends with us!
