    Sleeper State Park

    Sleeper State Park is a recreation area with a dog-friendly beach in Caseville, MI. Leashed dogs are welcome to explore the park as long as they are cleaned up after. Enjoy 723 acres of forest, wetlands, and sandy beaches and dunes on the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron. Fido can roam the trails of the ancient dune forests or hit the beach on its far west end. The area can be accessed by taking the boardwalk. It runs from the west boundary of the park itself to a mutt mitt dispenser and yellow post on the east boundary of the beach. Dogs are only allowed on the beach in this area. Visit Website

      Lots of dogs

      We went on weekend before Labor Day. Park was full with lots of dogs. By Sun evening 75% of sites were empty. Great beach for the dogs.

      Beautiful Beach!

      Went there camping this past weekend and took advantage of the dog beach! My pup loved it! Not too crowded and loved seeing everyone and their dogs!

      Beach access on a leash?

      Our dogs love the water, but it's hard to have fun on a 6' leash. We tried to find dog beach at Port Crescent but we looked and looked and couldn't find it. Portion of beach at Sleeper for dogs is quite small and really crowded by people without dogs so we didn't get a lot of beach time on this trip. Sad.

      Great Campground and Beach for Dog Families

      We recently spent 4 nights at the campground and LOVED it's dog friendly beach! We stayed over 4th of July weekend and the beach was busy, but not overly crowded. And since the dog beach is further down from the buoyed swimming area that helps keep dogs new to the beach from being overwhelmed by a ton of kids.
