Reviews
Visitors rave about Cat Rock Park as an excellent off-leash dog area with open fields, wooded trails, ponds, and streams for dogs to play and swim. Some note issues with limited parking and the park being restricted to residents only on weekends.

- MonicaMay 18, 2024My dogs favorite place in the world. It’s just residents only on weekends.
This is like heaven on earth for my pups. It’s an off leash wood area where they can play run and see other dogs. Mine is constantly jumping into the stream and having the time of his life however it does get really crowded so on Saturday and Sunday they do limited to residence only but Monday through Friday. We are welcome to go, and we have a blast.!!!

Off leash park with fields, wooded trails, giant pond, and streams. Well maintained with well behaved Fidos and owners
- JenniferMay 15, 2023Amazing!
Great off leash dog park! wide open, with water and paths. Friendly owners and dogs!! One of our new favorite places!!
- AllisonAug 2, 2021Great location!
I really love this park. I personally love that there are trash cans are available at the entrance to properly dispose of your pets waste which helps keep the park clean, it is away from any traffic, open fields in the back, and a small pond for your pets to swim in. I also like that you have to have your dogs on a leash until you cross over the bridge. That allows everyones pets to be safe when entering the parking lot.
- SavannahOct 8, 2019Great walk but terrible parking!
We like coming here when we can! The trails are really nice from spring to fall and there's a little pond where dogs can swim and cool off. This is one of the few off-leash parks in the area where dogs can wander around on trails by themselves. My only complaints are that parking can be terrible here as the lot is small and the cops/residents are ticket firendly and people dont always clean after their animals because the only trash can is at the entrance...
- PatriciaMay 26, 2019Non-residents are NOT welcome here
Weston residents say we are not welcome here .... police are there to enforce the weekend “residents only” rule. Bye, Weston! Luckily, Prospect Hill Park in next-door Waltham is open to ALL! Beautiful trails, off leash for dogs, and friendly people!
- DevanMay 14, 2019Everything Fido Could Want
Fido is allowed off leash throughout the park. There is plenty of water for swimming, open spaces for ball throwing, and tree-shaded hiking trails. This place has it all.
- KarenFeb 17, 2019nice place but need to be a resident on weekends
We went here for the first time today upon recommendation from a friend. Parking spaces at the park and on the entire street are limited to residents only on weekends. We checked one car with a ticket - $30 for parking in a restricted area.
- LindsayNov 4, 2018Competitive Parking. Amazing Off Leash Park
Sometimes a wait to get a spot for parking. But absolutely a great set of trails to make dog friends off leash, which is truly when dogs are in their element and more friendly than when on leash. One leashed dog can throw off the balance. I love that this place offers not only trails, but a place to swim and a large open field. As has been mentioned, folks that don’t like dogs shouldn’t go to this place as it is truly a dog paradise.

A wonderful wonderful place to take a dog, she loves playing in the in the water, and running through the woods (off leash!!!) and meeting all the other dogs I love love love it here and so does my dog.
- SherryontherockMore than a year agoyes it’s awesome!
This is probably the only park we could find for dog to run freely and to swim in the fresh water! There’s plenty of other parks that require dogs on leash and ton’s of other nice places that don’t even allow dogs! So if one really mind pack of dogs running towards you, please go to other places thanks!

My city dog has a blast running off leash, playing with other friendly pups, and tip toeing into the shallow end of the pond. Beautiful area! Lots of parking though there are no trash cans for dog poop so be prepared to carry it out. Other than that I'm definitely going back!
- MikeMore than a year agoAwesome!
Dogs love it. People love it. Except for dan. He's a douche. Don't be like dan. Dan can take his dog hating self to the hundreds, literally hundreds of other areas that dogs are not allowed.

Worth the drive! Friendly dog owners- brook and pond to swim in- great paths- make sure you bring doggy bags none are provided!

The dogs and their owners are ruining this park. One cannot take a walk without seeing multiple piles of dog feces, or being jumped/drooled on by a "friendly" dog or pack of dogs . The dogs need to be leashed. Voice command is a farce. This is a park intended for use by all, it is not a dog park.
- JennaMore than a year agoExcellent
Really a great area -- big open play area, water, more wooded/secluded areas. Maybe a slightly challenging terrain depending on your age/skill, but a variety routes to choose from.
- DavidMore than a year agoGreat off-leash park
Once you're out of the parking lot, your dog can be off leash the whole time. Wooded trails, open fields, streams, and a small pond for swimming. The entire park is extremely clean. Absolutely the best park in this area for my dog.

Cat Rock is a nice for a short hike. You can bring your dogs unleased to goin the fun! It is a nice trail with a pond for the dogs to splash around in.I would say it's worth the trip for a short, relaxing hike with your dog.
