Great little park for your dog

Been coming here for months. Have met a lot of great dogs and their owners. Most owners are alert to their dogs, we have never had or heard of any major issues. There are pooper scooper and bags available with bins. Area is well maintained. Benches and a picnic table inside for owners. Usually several balls and some toys as well. Water bowls are near the picnic table. And for newer dog owners, or a refresher, there is a bulletin area that has a lot of dog owner information,
including a handy chart that clarifies dog emotions so you can make sure you pup is safe.

    Nice Shady dog park

I've visited this park a few times when driving though Connecticut with my pup. As is true in all dog parks, it can be hit or miss. Most people/dogs we met were very welcoming. We had one bad encounter with an aggressive dog snd an irresponsible owner, but fortunately they left, complaining to someone on her phone about "overly sensitive people". Oh well. Other than that, we have had a great time at this park.

    Great location/dumb owners

I love coming here with my two little noise makers. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have met other friendly dog owners. Unfortunately, today wasn’t a great visit. For the past few months, an American bull dog and his owner have visited this park. The dog is super aggressive, humps everything in sight, and extremely untrained. Many fellow visitors feel uncomfortable around this dog. Today, a pit Bull was in here, and the bull dog and pit were getting slightly aggressive. The American bull dog finally lunges at the pit bull, clamping his jaws firmly around the pit bulls neck. Despite the yelling and swiping of a coat, the bull dog would not let go. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the American bull dog relaxed his jaw enough for the pit bull escape. The pit was bleeding pretty good. The owners both left pretty abruptly. I was able to get the license plate off the American bull dogs owner’s vehicle, and promptly contacted animal control. My hope for the future is the owner of this aggressive dog takes action to train this unsafe dog. I will continue to visit this park, but will keep my eyes open for this dog.

    Lovely shady dog park

Small and not size separated (but small dogs only on 2 days a week) but a lovely dog park in the woods with people seating, fresh water, grassy and thickly wood chipped room to run. Also park space outside of it to stroll on leash.
